Bay Valley tech has provided an amazing experience and I am extremely grateful for everything that has been done to help me make a career change. Bay Valley Tech offers free education and makes it fun! I started in the Digital Design cohort of 233 (march 2023) and after having so much fun designing my own web applications, graphics, and even learning how to write my own code, in an engaging, welcoming, and friendly environment, it sparked an interest to further pursue computer science. After completing the bootcamp I returned to community to college and am now working towards a degree in computer science and a Job in cyber security all while participating in Bay Valley techs paid internship. This school has not only supported me educationally but it has supported me financially as well. And in a time where my families finances have been the most constrained. I also want to mention that I work a full-time job outside of everything at Bay Valley Tech and I am a father to a 3-year-old girl and bay valley tech has done wonders by allowing me to work around my busy schedule.  Embarking on my journey to break into the tech industry, I found myself drawn to Bay Valley Tech due to its unique proposition of offering a comprehensive coding education for free. With skepticism initially clouding my decision, I was eager to explore whether this program could truly equip me with the skills and mindset required to thrive in the tech world. 


The instructors at Bay Valley Tech have been instrumental in shaping my understanding of coding beyond just the technical aspects. I have been an intern/student at Bay Valley Tech Code Academy for a few months now, and I've had the best learning experience. If you sign up for the Code Academy then you will learn the fundamentals of Web Development. Before the internship, they start you off with the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, then once you've got a good grasp on those concepts they go into React.js, Express, and MySQL, along with other foundational skills like Git/GitHub. They will put you into groups so that you can collaborate with your peers. Overall, I would say that the Code Academy is worth it if you want to learn everything web dev related!  Read less

I saw this as an opportunity to gain more experience in coding and to learn more, and honestly I've learned a lot more here than I learned in my college in a small amount of time. It's even free too, I highly recommend if you're wanting to learn more how to code, if you're switching careers, or if you want to gain experience in fullstack development and prepare yourself for a future career in that role.  Read less

I was part of the 236 cohort and It has been such a wonderful experience. If I am being honest I feel like I have learned more here than I have in my college experience. The curriculm is pretty straight forward. The instructors are very helpful and go out of their way to assist you. They offer many opportunities to network with people that have been in the career field for many years. There is hands on experience with projects. There is a group system to make sure you have someone to reach out to if you are struggling with the course work. There is a wide range of skill level. You can join without having written a single line of code. As long a you are willing to learn this is a great opportunity to get into the technology space. Grading is based on pass or fail. As long as you meet the requirements for projects, keep up with the work, and attend the lessons you should be good!  Read less

BVT has taught me so much in only a few months. When I first started in the bootcamp, I only knew very basic css and html, but now I am able to make full websites with different frameworks libraries and API's. I was taught a lot of applicable skills at the Digital Design Bootcamp which complimented the skills I had in graphic design. The DD bootcamp has earnable certificates in website design and creation and has educated me about how websites work and why the choices we as designers make matter.  After starting my training in at the end of December, in April I was eligible for the internship portion which allows students to gain paid experience as part of a design team. The instructors are great at offering their time and their own work to help those who ask for help and go to study sessions. All of the projects you complete go towards the technical certificates you earn, and both of these expand upon your skills as a designer using digital tools and make you a more eligible candidate. This training academy is unlike any other academy out there. First to none in my opinion. Not only is the education free, but we can work with employers and gain more experience to see what is in demand. I am able to tailor my resume and projects to what employers want.

Bay Valley Tech has an amazing community of students and teachers that help start and/or advance your technical skills in the tech field. I initially started because I wanted to learn how to create websites from scratch and throughout that process I learned I had a love for all things data. Through Bay Valleys networking events and them helping me create a LinkedIn I was able to connect with others in the data science field and get insight on the job market for my chosen career path. The online technical skills as well as the in person communication skills I have learned in from Bay Valley have been invaluable so the fact that it is free to join with an optional paid internship position is just amazing. I highly suggest Bay Valley Tech to everyone and anyone who wants to get into tech but aren't quite sure of what path to take. Its free and flexible so long as you are open an honest. My decision to join Bay Valley Tech in June 2023 has proven to be a game-changer for my programming skills. The coursework and internship will significantly improve the skills of individuals with a computer science background (like me). While the training is free, it does demand your time, effort, and determination to grasp the material. Starting a tech job search during or after college with insufficient industry experience can feel intimidating and make one feel stuck without much to show to companies, since businesses prefer people who already have experience in the field. That is exactly the problem I faced after graduating, even though I was a computer science graduate with years of coding experience. Luckily young developers can highly benefit from Bay Valley Tech's digital skills boot camp and internship programs. BVT offers comprehensive coding training in latest and trending technologies that will make new developers hirable and provide them with skills they will likely need for the rest of their IT career. BVT gives students opportunity to work on some significant software projects which will enrich their coding portfolios and bring them one step closer to getting IT jobs. I attended part of the Bay Valley Tech Code Academy and found it to be a wonderful opportunity. The instructors are fantastic and the other students friendly and willing to help. While life caused me to have to put my studies on hold, I do hope to one day return and complete the course. Considering it is offered online with no cost, it is a great opportunity for those of us living the Central Valley, just over the hill from the Silicon Valley. Bay Valley Tech is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to get into the tech industry! The instructors are absolutely incredible at what they do to gain skills in coding and digital skills. I came into the bootcamp with little experience prior yet learned so much less than a year. I enhanced my skills in photoshop, HTML, CSS, and much more certifications. It’s also a great opportunity for anyone to do part time remotely which gave me a balance between my current job and learning new skills. After almost 5 months, I completed the Digital Skills program and landed a paid internship which allowed me to gain more real hands on projects to work with in teams or individually! Bay Valley Tech is an amazing group of experienced coders and web designers that have devoted their efforts to help fellow aspiring programmers make it into the job market. The community is very friendly and inviting, and I've had an incredible time learning from these instructors. At the end of the internship, several resume workshops are hosted so that you have the best chance for success. Also, numerous opportunities to meet potential employers.
