I joined Devslopes Academy because I wanted to improve my skills and learn new technologies, and honestly, it has been an amazing experience. The mentorship here is outstanding. The instructors are not only knowledgeable but also incredibly patient. They don’t just give you the answers they guide you to think critically, which has been crucial for my growth. Every session I attend teaches me something new, and I can feel myself improving in problem-solving and critical thinking. The mentors have been a huge help on this journey, and I truly appreciate their support.The curriculum is well-structured and easy to follow, with clear and engaging lessons. What I love most is how often they update the content, so I can always come back and learn from new materials. And if I ever get stuck, there are multiple live sessions happening throughout the day where I can ask questions and get the help I need.But what really stands out to me is the community. I've seen people constantly helping each other, not competing, and that makes all the difference. 
Everyone here is respectful, supportive, and genuinely wants to see each other succeed. I joined Devslopes because I really liked what the academy said they stood for which was the success of their students! They made it very clear that they were not going to coddle any student and make them feel good if doing so would be detrimental to their success which is a attitude that is hard to find in todays world and I really value that! 
Currently I am a apprentice aircraft mechanic, while I do enjoy many aspects of this job it was never my asperation, I took it because I need to get my mechanic license to move forward in my goals (it's complicated). With a young wife (I am 20 and she is 19) and a newborn I new I needed to be able to generate some extra income on the side, but I also wanted to have flexibility, be around my family and invest myself in a skill set that I could take with me in life and would benefit me in many other careers as well. This is why I was so excited when I stumbled across Devslopes!
I love the mentors here, the are always willing to help, but they push you to learn, asking leading questions instead of just giving the answers! They are also not afraid to be honest with you and tell you that what you are doing will not get you success even if they know that you will not like it and will be upset with them. I have experienced mentors, who on seeing a opportunity to better help the students achieve success, would pay for it out of their own pocket in while waiting for approval from the rest of the organization, this kind of dedication to the success of the students is rarely found and extremely valuable!
The curriculum is great, there are a few spots that are a little hard for me to get through but that is less a result of poor curriculum and more the result that it doesn't always match my learning style. Overall though it is really well done and constantly being improved!
It is so nice being apart of a community that really supports it's self! I really love it!
Overall I would give it 6 stars if I could, Devslopes has its flaws but so does anything in this world, anyone trying to tell you otherwise is a Liar! It is totally worth it! Read less

I joined Devslopes back in September of 2023. At the time I was a full time welder/fabricator. I was tired with my job, my body hurt all the time. I would come home from working 50 hours a week and do nothing but sleep. 
As of January 2024, I am full time learning how to be a web dev. I was having a hard time learning for a while to be honest, but once I started attending the mentor sessions regularly I've found my learning to be ramping up and I have been able to move passed problems I've had in the past!   
Eric, Jon (no longer with devslopes), and Tyler are all wonderful teachers. Each of them brings there unique way of teaching and problem solving to the table. All of the mentors have been super knowledgeable on the topics taught in the curriculum and have been great at giving helpful nudges toward the answer and not just flat out giving you a solution. That won't help you learn!  
I have enjoyed the curriculum so far! It has been easy to follow and I've been able to build some pretty cool things! 
Devslopes community really is there to let you know that you aren't alone, you aren't the only one having the feelings your having. And we help each other push through because we know that together, we can do this!  Read less

I joined Devslopes to transition from my career as a Certified Nurse Assistant to a more tech-focused field, and it’s been an incredible journey. The go-at-your-own-pace curriculum was perfect for me, allowing me to continue working while learning new skills. I’m able to balance my job with my education, which has been key to making this career change possible.The mentors are always available and eager to help, making the learning process much easier. Whenever I have questions or need guidance, they’re there to offer support and clear explanations on a 1 on 1 level, even during busy classes. Many will even take extra time after class if they can. That is one of the most important aspects for me.Another one of the great aspects of this program is the freelance and business operations courses, which allowed me to start making money while I was still learning. This has given me real-world experience and has helped me gain confidence, even before landing my "dream job."The online community is another huge plus. It's highly engaging and supportive. Its Another opportunity for students to learn and grow from each other. Devslopes offers hackathons as well that are both fun and lucrative, allowing me to learn while earning. It’s been a game-changer for me, and I’m so grateful for the experience.Overall, I highly recommend Devslopes for anyone looking to learn clean coding and make a career change. I joined Devslopes at the end of the last year and my experience has been very gratificant so far. It is not just a courser with bounch of videos. There are multiples live classes every day with different topics like: programing, career coaching, freelance, etc. 
We just did a tournament about building website solutions and CRM for business wich give a realistic view of the freelance world. And the best part? Is that the winner team gets 500 dollars cash per each person.

Communicating technical needs,  limitations and recommendations to my business clients as well as executing those needs is very difficult since I don’t have many years of experience in the field. So not only do the mentors help me pass my Devslopes assignments, they also mentor me on how I can create the technologies that will help my clients meet their business needs.
They go above and beyond to offer personalized assistance, not just in coding but also in life. I remember a time when I was struggling with a particularly challenging coding problem. My mentor patiently walked me through the problem step by step, helping me understand the underlying concepts and find a solution. This experience not only improved my coding skills but also instilled in me a sense of perseverance and problem-solving mindset that I carry with me to this day.
Overall, my experience with Devslopes has been nothing short of amazing. The program has provided me with the knowledge, support, and opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. Thanks to the help of the Devslopes mentors and community I made $2000 working on that project part time. Not only that, he also recommended me to his client and I am in negotiations to build him something as well. I had been learnng to code much before I joined Devslopes Academy and the main reason I decided to join Devslopes was the possibility of getting direct help from the coding instructors. Watching coding tutorials on your own can be very convenient and useful, but the main problem arises when you get stuck and don't know who to ask. This is where Devslopes Academy comes in. The instructors are professionals with years of industry experience who go out of their way to help you. And it's not just the instructors, it's a full community of instructors, mentors, motivators and current and past students who are there to help you learn and grow!
 
 Since a lot of the community members have professional software development experience, they are able to pass on their valuable knowledge and insights when you try to build something either for yourself or your client. For example, by the time I finished HTML, CSS and Javascript part of the course, I was able to build a site for my current company using those technologies, giving a fresh new look to the online presence of the company. Now that I am almost reaching the end of the course, I plan to build a full stack Employee Management app that will streamline the process of managing employee data. I am sure that the knowledge gained at Devslopes, together with a few solid software projects will help me progress towards my dream career in tech! Read less

I have a degree in Comp Sci, have taken programing courses and even tried the self-taught thing like Codecademy but none of those things that I have tried has given me the true confidence to know that I can do this as a career more than DevSlopes. These mentors/instructors have the patience to give you personal training and tip to guide you along your programing journey and not just to work for somebody but also to be a freelancer as well. I have done a coding boot camp, watched many coding tutorials, and used many different platforms to learn to code, and I can say that Devslopes has certainly been the strongest and most sensible. I initially hesitated, even telling the sales rep, "I have no intention of signing up," but that quickly changed. It is incredibly flexible and based on your needs. Their personal growth and mental health set Devslopes apart from all platforms. While I have not attended an empowerment call in a while because I have a personal therapist, these calls are a chance to make yourself vulnerable while holding yourself accountable to get your work done. As someone who is presently a public school teacher, I can say that the mindset coaching has helped me shift my attitude about my current job and has helped me start to enjoy it again. This leads me to talk about the instructors and how they go to great lengths to help you out. You can send them messages (and if they are available), and they will answer. I have been able to make myself vulnerable to one of the instructors about my struggles with ADHD, and they have been immensely supportive and mindful of that because they struggled with it as well.

There are many different projects for you to complete along the way, but one that will really push you to your limits is the SaaS landing page project. It's focus is mainly HTML and CSS, but you can add some JavaScript. I have used the layout from this project for my personal portfolio. I have also used my skills to build a website for a family business and a website for a friend to gain experience and put this item on my portfolio and Upwork. And while I have not landed any freelance work outside of my circle of friends and family, I do remain hopeful that that day is coming soon!

Bootcamps only work if you have literally nothing else going on in your life and only rush the process of learning code in depth. The mentors push you to dig deeper, and the student community is immensely supportive. And while you absolutely COULD make money while learning how to code, all of it is up to you. That is the challenge but also the beauty of Devslopes. Read less

     I'm currently a student at Devslopes and I'm not yet at the halfway point in the curriculum. The reason that I came to Devslopes is that I started in the computer field 45 years ago but the one area I haven’t learned yet is web design so, here I am.     Having done pretty much everything else that you can do in the computer field you probably realize that I’ve been to a number of schools and/or boot camps over the years. I would definitely rate Devslopes as the best school I’ve ever attended. From the CEO himself, down to the instructors, mentors and everyone else that I've come in contact with, in my opinion, they all pretty much have one thing in common (I wouldn’t be surprised if it was actually a job requirement). They all truly care about me learning and succeeding. This is quite evident in the training / mentorship that they offer beyond the coding, their tone of voice when they speak to you, as well as their methodology in the way that they answer our questions. I joined Devslopes after attending another boot camp and realizing that I definitely needed a bit more schooling to achieve my goals. Since joining, I feel like the gaps in knowledge that I had are slowly being filled in and things are starting to make much more sense to me. I don’t regret attending the first boot camp, I just feel like a lot of knowledge was thrown at me and I had no clue how to fit the puzzle pieces together. This program is self-paced letting me move at my own speed and I can ask questions to the instructors and other students when I feel stuck. This is a double-edged sword because on one hand I can really marinate in the material until I feel like I have a good understanding of it, but on the other hand this line of thinking does keep pushing back my self-proclaimed done by date! Which is steadily approaching!! 

There have been times when I got super stressed thinking maybe coding was just one of those things that I wasn’t meant to do. Like you know, when Mike Wazowski found out he couldn’t be a scarer and realized his talents were better served elsewhere. Other aspects of life piled on, the no job, my physical and mental health nose diving, certain people being… people. I’m really grateful that a few mentors reached out to me, these were different times mind you, and they let me rant out my frustrations a bit. It really helped just having someone to talk to at the time. Mr. Jon has this way of helping you go over code and then you realize that you knew way more than you thought you did. Lol, again me thinking I just might not be cut out for this. Then I started answering questions for other students and seeing that I really did have it down, lol that got me even more hyped. Then speaking with Ms. Shawn and actually talking out things that I was stressed about and realizing that I have to focus on me and what I can do and let everything else just kinda be what it is. I really don’t think they have to go that far when they speak with us, but I hope they know how important it was for me at that time to have their input and guidance and to continue to have it while in this program. In Mr. Andrei’s classes as well, I can ask questions and he explains it in a way that I’m better able to comprehend and then he asks more of those exploratory questions to make sure I understood what we just did. Which is really good when you are someone who thinks they got it, but turns into the sim who walks into a room and forgot what they were there to do. All this to say, big props to the Instructors/Mentors.

I have gotten to work on some pretty cool projects/assignments over this course. One project has us making a battleship console game using our terminal and that really helped me see how much work goes into the smallest bits of what we will hopefully be working on in the future. There is also a project that teaches us how to fetch data from apis and I had an absolute blast making a Pokemon “Quote” Generator. I thought the concept I chose was incredibly funny for a good while. I still laugh about it. We even have assignments making articles for Medium so we can really flesh out if we’ve learned a concept and show it to others. That’s a pretty cool way to get our names out there as well. I’m a little over halfway done with the curriculum so I’m excited to see what other cool stuff is in store. Keep an eye on my Medium articles, no way I’ll not brag about what I’ve learned.

At this point, I’ve been here for about a year and a few months. I have not done any freelance work just yet. I’m still in the “making sure I got it” mindset. I have attended a few of the freelance lectures and they are very informative on how to get the work. Again, I want to make sure I can do the work before I start hopping into projects and getting clients to choose me. I in no way want to spread myself too thin again thinking I can take on everything and everyone. 

If you’ve read this far, you were at least a little bit interested in what I had to say about the program. This is not a bad place to learn and the community is epic, plenty of rubber ducks to go around!

Throughout the two-year duration of my course completion, I have observed several positive alterations facilitated by the institution's commitment to continuous improvement. These enhancements have included the recruitment of new mentors, advancements in course materials, and various other refinements aimed at enhancing the learning experience.



The guidance and support provided by our mentors have been instrumental in shaping my coding journey. Their expertise has not only assisted me in refining my code but has also facilitated the acquisition of industry best practices. I have come to anticipate and value the thorough code reviews and insightful feedback provided during our meetings, which occur regularly throughout the week. These interactions have been pivotal in my growth as a coder.


Among the projects I have undertaken, my capstone project stands out as the most challenging and rewarding endeavor. It presented an opportunity to showcase my ability to adapt and learn new technologies—a crucial skill in the dynamic landscape of the tech industry. Opting for Vue.js, Tailwind CSS, and Supabase, none of which were covered in the Devslopes curriculum, allowed me to demonstrate my proficiency in independent learning and problem-solving.


Thanks to the mentorship and skills acquired through Devslopes, I have successfully secured numerous freelance opportunities. The guidance provided by mentors has not only bolstered my technical capabilities but has also played a pivotal role in landing these projects.  Read less

I joined Devslopes because I was looking to make a career change. I had been working full-time in automotive for several years as both a technician and a service advisor, but Devslopes makes it easy to start transitioning into a high-paying field with no prior knowledge or experience in a way that I can learn on my own time in the evenings or weekends. The community is friendly and informative, and the mentorship is top notch. Whenever you have questions, they explain it until you finally "get it", and they provide plenty of feedback on assignments so that you can improve for the future, it's not just "fail, try again". Speaking of assignments, after enrollment you can get started right away on your first paid project, where they walk you through the process of finding and fulfilling jobs as a freelancer so you can start building a portfolio. There are classes almost daily open for all students to join, as well as individual sessions you can schedule if you need extra help, and if you're someone like me with a full-time job, they have many of these classes in the evenings for those who can't attend midday. They kickstarted my journey into a career in tech, so I highly recommend them if you are serious and willing to put in the work.

The reason I joined Devslopes is because I am looking for a career change. I am currently a restaurant District Manager.  The thing that got me most interested is the earn while you learn and while I haven't jumped into to much I can see that part of the program is fantastic. The curriculum has been really good. I've tried some free/ low cost coding learning options and once things get a little more complicated you start feel really lost with little guidance. At Devslopes someone always gets back to you and they have many live mentoring classes throughout the day and week and even on the weekends to help among other resources to support you.  Read less

I’m a current paying student at Devslopes. At the time of writing this, I’ve already paid over $9,300 with $3,000 more to go. But I’ve been kicked out of their Discord with no notice, no support, and no way to communicate.

Before blocking me on Facebook, they started aggressively posting more content—just to bury my comments. Then came the deletions. Now I can’t comment at all. They’ve cut off every avenue for me to tell my story.

I never even used their course materials because of financial hardships. But when I explained my situation, their response was cold and cruel—basically telling me “Too bad, you signed the contract. You were too gullible.”

This wasn't an honest enrollment. The sales rep (Nathan) rushed me into a contract during a 15-minute call, emphasizing benefits without disclosing the full financial risks. I was told I wouldn’t have to pay until I started earning money, but that was misleading at best—predatory at worst.

After I signed, it was too late. No refunds. No cancellations. Any Discord posts asking about them mysteriously disappear. Other members pile on, saying it’s “my fault” for not learning the “easy” material. No empathy. No accountability.

It honestly feels like some of the people in their community are just there to shut down dissent and protect the company’s image.

Now I’m stuck paying off a loan for a course I couldn’t even use. No response to emails. No access to Discord. No ability to comment on Facebook. No justice.

I’m posting this because if they did this to me, they can do it to others. Maybe they already have.

People deserve to know what they’re walking into. And I deserve to have my voice heard.
