Great Learning

It is with great pleasure that I share my very positive experience with taking the Applied AI and Data Science program through MIT Professional Education and the Great Learning platform. As a former software engineer, casually following AI since the late 80s, and later teaching AI as a computer science teacher, I was interested in taking this course to ‘catch up’ with the latest in the AI / ML space and, in particular, how Data Science was applying it in industry today to more efficiently solve modern day problems. 
I was impressed with the variety of levels at which you could learn the material, from very technical to non technical, from simply understanding the main topics to (optionally) diving in deeply and going beyond the program with additional materials provided by the MIT professors.  There is a lot to learn in this space, to fully understand and appreciate the impact of what AI and ML has and is making, and I feel that Great Learning and MIT jointly have done a great job putting together a hands-on curriculum that spreads the up-to-date knowledge of this space.
I am a problem solver and educator by trade so there were many a-ha moments in the 14 weeks taking the course. I started seeing opportunities, in my every day, where the knowledge and tools I was learning could be applied. As time went on, I started seeing a match in job skills that employers were requesting and the skills I was learning in the class. It was exciting to become part of a community that understands how AI is a necessary tool to push us further in discovery and efficiency in our world. Everyone involved - the MIT professors, industry mentors, Great Learning support, project management, and my fellow learners were a community that made it easy to dive into this, sometimes dense, material because they helped get me unstuck so that I could move forward.
We are solidly in the Information Age with easy access to tons of data. Data Science, AI, and Machine Learning will help us make use of this data to solve problems and make discoveries that we have not been able to do. I recommend this course to gain the knowledge and skills to get started.

I've done bootcamps/online certifications before that were 10x the cost and offering less value and education than Great Learning has provided in this course! Highly recommend, it is packed with professionally curated projects, correctly paced weekly workload and a doable and timely progression through the material that can be completed part-time if you have industry experience or full-time if you're just beginning your journey. The Postgraduate Program in AI Agents for Business Applications was very informative and well-structured, with a combination of recorded videos, weekly live sessions, quizzes, and hands-on projects. The program coordinators were always friendly, supportive, and responsive whenever help was needed.The course does require dedicated time each week to complete the assigned topics and projects. I enrolled in the low-code track, but some sections were still somewhat code-heavy when learning the concepts. However, the program provided flexibility to complete projects using low-code approaches, and the quizzes were focused more on understanding concepts rather than programming itself.I come from a non-IT background, so initially some of the technical concepts felt challenging. However, I was still able to successfully complete the course and gain valuable exposure to AI agents, automation concepts, and practical business applications.I would recommend this program to professionals who are interested in understanding AI and business applications, especially those looking to gain practical exposure without needing a deep programming background. The MIT Applied AI & Data Science Program exceeded my expectations in both technical depth and practical application.What I appreciated the most was that the program was not limited to theory. It provided hands-on experience with real-world projects involving machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, data analysis, and business-oriented problem solving. The curriculum pushed me to think critically, structure analytical workflows properly, and communicate technical insights clearly.One of the strongest aspects of the program was the Capstone Project experience. Developing an end-to-end deep learning project for malaria detection allowed me to apply concepts such as CNN architectures, transfer learning, preprocessing pipelines, model evaluation, and performance optimization in a realistic scenario similar to industry-level work.The mentorship, structure, and academic rigor were excellent throughout the program. It challenged me to improve not only my technical abilities in Python, AI, and data science, but also my problem-solving mindset and presentation skills.I would highly recommend this program to professionals who want a practical, intensive, and industry-relevant learning experience in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. This course is a masterclass in clarity and practical application. I especially valued the deep dive into multi-modal systems, which gave me the confidence to evaluate and select the right models for various scenarios. The course materials are expertly developed and easy to follow. Beyond the content, the mentorship was invaluable. The instructors don’t just teach; they mentor. The live sessions allowed us to explore the material with real-world examples, ensuring we fully grasped the concepts before moving forward. The Applied Al and Data Science program was exceptionally well structured and comprehensive, delivering a deep and thoughtfully designed learning experience. The sessions led by MIT professors were particularly valuable, as they helped me understand the origins of key concepts and build strong theoretical foundations, while the weekend classes complemented this by offering detailed explanations, practical insights, and thorough coverage of every concept along with dedicated time to address all questions. Overall, the program provided excellent exposure to data science topics, Python, and Al models through a rich mix of quizzes and hands-on projects. Although the program was intensive and required dedicated weekly effort, it was highly rewarding. My motivation and ability to stay on track were greatly supported by my program coordinator, Karandeep, whose consistent guidance, prompt responses to questions, and help with program management made a significant difference. I have completed the 'Applied AI and Data Science Program' of MIT Professional Education in April 2026. Within that program I have gained a deep understanding in Data Analysis and Visualization, Machine Learning, Recommendation Systems, Gen AI (only to name a few topics), and also Python programming is included. During the course three (major) projects need to be completed, and I loved the possibility to either go with a 'full-code' version (more for programmers), or the one that I chose, the 'low-code' version, which also requests a business report. 
The program is run by Great Learning who provided every support you could imagine: the online sessions with MIT were supported by a Great Learning team member who was screening the chat and answering the participants' questions on the spot. Further, the was very useful information provided via multiple channels (e.g. Olympus Learning Management System, Slack, e-mail) and all sessions were recorded for later review.

I’m only about halfway through Great Learning’s Post Graduate Program in AI and Machine Learning: Business Applications but have found the course to be well-paced and a great experience so far. Expectations and time requirements are communicated clearly and the Olympus platform is easy to navigate. 

The coursework itself is comprehensive and does require due diligence and commitment from the student to stay on top of the graded materials and concepts (especially those with limited prior experience in coding and/or machine learning. The instructors and mentors are excellent and support from the assigned program manager is exceptional. I’d highly recommend for anyone interesting in furthering their education or experience! I had a great learning experience with the AIML course from Great Learning. I found the course curriculum covers most of key concepts, starting from the basics of Python and progressing seamlessly to advanced ALML concepts. The hands-on projects were extremely valuable, helping me gain practical experience and confidence in solving real-world use cases. The sessions were well-planned, even considering holidays, ensuring a consistent and effective learning journey. During my study I had to take a break for few weeks, due to some unavoidable issues, I am glad I got another chance to resume my studies. I found the policies are helpful and I am thankful to program manager Prabhjyot Singh, for his continuous support. He effectively managed the training schedules, ensured timely follow-ups, and was always available to address any queries related to the learning platform and class timings. The Applied Data Science program was an outstanding learning experience. The curriculum was well-structured, highly practical, and deeply relevant to real-world applications. The no-code AI and ML course was extremely detailed and thoughtfully put together. They started with math and stats basics and developed your learning into AI through an amazing set of modules. There are a lot of different ways to learn and engage in the subject matters presented. I highly recommend this course. Read less

My experience at Great Learning was extremely positive on all relevant fronts.



In terms of the educational content, there is much to highlight. Key concepts were often presented in a pedagogically sound and impressive manner during the lectures. While there can be a substantial amount of material to cover in each course, this also means you can get a great deal out of it if you make a genuine effort to review the content carefully. Thankfully, the lectures themselves were often just the right length--long enough to teach something meaningful but short enough to hold your attention. As a result, it was possible to make real progress in learning each day, even with limited time.



Beyond the lectures, the guided live sessions were very valuable. They typically included a “theoretical” review of the week’s content, followed by a more “hands-on” portion where the instructor demonstrated practical applications of the concepts in action- something especially important in AI/ML and useful for carrying out the assigned projects. The live sessions generally ran closer to two and a half hours than two, but both parts (the theoretical and the practical) were important and worthwhile. Student questions and participation also showed strong engagement with the material. I was also fortunate to have an excellent instructor who was deeply committed to ensuring that students truly understood the material before moving on to more advanced topics. He even often shared stories from his professional experience about how he approached related challenges in his work, which I found both interesting and enlightening.



Regarding assessments, there were two main components: a series of weekly quizzes and a final project for each course or module. The quizzes were fair and fit well within a typically busy schedule. Their flexible completion windows (rather than fixed times) were especially convenient. The projects, however, were where I learned the most. They helped bring everything together, and after completing several of them, I began to develop a clear sense of what real AI/ML work involves, e.g., how projects are structured, which packages are relevant for specific tasks, how long different steps might take, and so on. In the end, these projects can serve as excellent portfolio pieces that demonstrate the skills you’ve developed throughout the program. The feedback I received on my projects was also constructive, helpful, and typically delivered quickly.



Although of lesser importance, the general user interface, community forums, leaderboards, and other platform features also contributed positively to the overall learning/social experience. Things seemed well-designed and intuitive overall, as well as conducive to maintaining or increasing one’s motivation levels throughout the program.



Finally, on the administrative side, Great Learning truly stood out for me, so a few words are in order. I was assigned a program manager, Usha, who was incredibly helpful from the start- creating the right atmosphere and setting one up for success right from the get-go. She is someone who was very accessible and supportive throughout the program. Indeed, at one point, I encountered a serious issue submitting a project worth over half my grade, and it was something I had worked very hard on. In similar situations elsewhere, I have experienced slow responses and limited support, which essentially only led to frustration. However, Usha handled the matter quickly and effectively, and that showed me just how much of a difference a great program manager can make. Her patience, understanding, and impressive dedication allowed me to submit the project successfully in the end, something I remain deeply grateful for. Her combination of professionalism and commitment really served to make my experience at Great Learning an especially memorable one and I have no doubt she was a key factor in my success throughout the program. Anyone who has Usha as a program manager in the future should consider themselves fortunate, as they will have someone genuinely dedicated to their success.
