Hofstra University, Continuing Education offers non-credit online bootcamps in Cloud Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics and Visualization, and Software Engineering. Online students can choose from full or part time programs and will complete real-world IT projects, collaborate with their peers, and develop a portfolio highlighting their career readiness.
In the 12-20 week Cloud Engineering Bootcamp, students learn the fundamentals of networking and cloud computing. Students will receive hands-on training in AWS (Amazon Web Services) functionalities. Students will prepare for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner IT certification.
The 10-18 week Cybersecurity Bootcamp program covers cybersecurity essentials, system and network security, Linux essentials, security operations and architecture, and cybersecurity analyst essentials; training students for entry-level roles that include SOC Analyst, and Cybersecurity Specialist. Students will prepare for CompTIA A+ Security certification.
The 10-18 week Data Analytics and Visualization Bootcamp will offer new insights and perspectives within the field, training in industry-aligned skills, and technical expertise; preparing students for roles such as Power BI Analyst and Data Analyst. Students will prepare for the Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) certification.
The 12-20 week Software Engineering Bootcamp students will benefit from coursework focused on foundational software engineering skills and concepts, including covering system and software development computer science foundations through project portfolios, code samples, and technical interviews. focuses on both the foundational and advanced software engineering skills that students need for the field. Students will be prepared for IT roles such as Front-End Developer, Back-End Developer, and Junior Software Engineer.
The 12-week IT Technician Bootcamp is designed to help students master the skills necessary to obtain an entry-level IT support or specialist role. Students who complete the program will emerge prepared to enter the IT support field in an entry-level helpdesk, technician or specialist role and prepared to take the CompTIA A+ certification exam.
Career services are included in all Hofstra University bootcamps, and students have access to IT mentors while enrolled in coursework. Throughout the program and upon completion, students can have access to resume guidance, LinkedIn profile review, job search assistance, and mock interviews.

Good overall, but there's better options
I found the boot camp to be overall good. What separates this boot camp from others is the fact that you can sign up for it with a mentor. This is definitely a huge plus, since a lot of people may feel lost while learning on their own. As for the curriculum, Some of it was outdated for sure (React for example; we were using class components, but React has been trying to phase those out over the past few years in favor of functional components with hooks), and it felt like it was geared w...I found the boot camp to be overall good. As for the curriculum, Some of it was outdated for sure (React for example; we were using class components, but React has been trying to phase those out over the past few years in favor of functional components with hooks), and it felt like it was geared way more towards the front-end, rather than full-stack (the back-end technologies courses felt rushed towards the end of the curriculum). Also, although a lot of people aren't a fan of PHP, I think it's a very valuable language to learn since a large majority of companies still use it, so I would include it in the curriculum. If I remember correctly, one of the courses randomly used PHP in the middle of it but had no tutorial or anything on how to actually get PHP code running or anything. On a side note, the curriculum should be way more hands-on. Watching videos works sometimes, but for someone to retain information, I feel that actually writing the code would help a lot more. In conclusion, the boot camp experience was overall positive. The mentorship option was great, since it made self-learning less stressful. However, if money is a little tight, and you don't need a mentor, there are free resources out there where you can learn every language taught here in equal or greater depth.

Excellent experince
This was the first data science course I have undertaken, and I must say, it was worth the while. There is a lot to study; the coaches provide extra materials that helps you understand everything. They are also very professional and designed the course curriculum in a way that’s suitable for all students.
The projects and exercises are very realistic, and once you complete 50% of the course, you are on your way to begin learning Machine, Deep Learning, and Data Scienc...This was the first data science course I have undertaken, and I must say, it was worth the while. There is a lot to study; the coaches provide extra materials that helps you understand everything. They are also very professional and designed the course curriculum in a way that’s suitable for all students.
The projects and exercises are very realistic, and once you complete 50% of the course, you are on your way to begin learning Machine, Deep Learning, and Data Science in-depth.
The course is well structured, with self-paced courses and tutors were hands on ground to provide all the support I needed. The tutors took their time to break down complex concepts like as descriptive and inferential statistics. You'll also get a completion certificate at the end which is a major plus when job hunting.

Met my expectations
I have heard about cloud computing, and I had no idea what it means. It was through a friend who was finding it difficult to explain it to me that I registered for this course, and that's the most important decision I have taken this year. This course was designed to help people because I don't understand why it's cheap than the values I derived here. I went from asking what cloud means to pass excellently in cloud computing. Their course curriculum is quite considerate. It took me through a step-by-step practical procedures, with each step opening new doors of knowledge as I proceeded. The native English accent the tutors use made the whole lecture very to understand, and that really helped me comprehend the whole tutorials faster.
The lectures are practical, coupled with the student support program that allows each student to ask questions directly to the lecturer involved. The cybersecurity Bootcamp course changed my perception about cybersecurity, especially how it affects financial institutions and other corporate bodies. The career support section of the program helped me have a realistic knowledge on how the job as a cybersecurity expert works. It gave me a comprehensive insight about the world of cybersecurity outside these online classrooms.
Before now, I have always had problems with visual clarity when it comes to attending online courses. The labs are good because of the active nature, but lacking in description. Basically type tracert -d -h 3. What does all that other stuff mean? No clue. you'll figure out later if you self study which is the majority of how this bootcamp operates. They promised instruction that " will not be death by PowerPoint" (their words) but literally the entire class is that. the lectures are abysmal with horrible audio and bored instructors that sound like they're doing you a favor explaining com...The labs are good because of the active nature, but lacking in description. Once you get to the CEH lectures they are done by EC council which you could just save money and do on your own. I spent about 40-60 hours outside of the course material studying to pass my Network+ exam. Originally what was supposed to take 6 months or be self paced is neither. After firing one of the teachers and moving cohorts around we are now nearing an 8 month course and you cannot access anything unless you wait for the entire class to get to that point. It does allow for time to study on actual valuable things like playing around with Kali or exam practice(Also promised- not part of this).
With so many free or cheaper options out there (which i needed to study anyway) to learn this material, I am having serious buyers remorse. This is operated through Quickstart and Im not sure who keeps giving them money. Look it up they just got a huge investment. I guess taking advantage of people who don't know what else is out there pays off!
The only actual pros besides the labs and projects are the teachers and people who work for the company are very responsive and helpful. 2 stars is being generous. Good for certification exam preparation
Some of the explanations weren’t in-depth enough. I don’t find the lectures to be as engaging as I thought it would be. Though most of the tutors did great with their explanations, some either did explain it well or didn’t properly explain certain concepts.
