I recently completed the 12-week Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Bootcamp with the Institute of Data.

At the start of the program, I was quite apprehensive and stressed about diving into such an intensive course. However, student services and my trainers, Chaitanya & Isabelle were incredibly supportive, providing positive reassurance that helped elevate my concerns. Their encouragement made a significant difference in my confidence and ability to tackle the coursework.

 The curriculum is robust, covering essential foundations in Python, machine learning, and other key areas, such as soft skills (critical thinking, presenting, documentation). It's a comprehensive overview that serves as a jack of all trades, master of none. This broad approach is perfect for those looking to gain a wide range of skills in a short period. Be prepared, though—the course moves at a rapid pace. It’s definitely a case of what you put in is what you get out.

I would recommend completing the pre-course work in plenty of time to alleviate stress. This preparation will help you start the boot camp on the right foot and keep up with the fast-paced learning environment. Additionally, a laptop with at least 8GB of RAM or higher is essential for the course. For the final capstone project, I highly recommend sourcing a data set as early as possible to give yourself ample time to work on it. 

By the end of the course, I was very pleased with what I had achieved and how far I had come. The progress I made in just 12 weeks was beyond my expectations.

While I am still in the process of securing a full-time data role, I can't comment extensively on job prospects after the course. However, I can say that the job outcomes team is very friendly and provide a wealth of resources.

 Overall, I would say the course is a good introduction, but please manage your expectations when it comes to transitioning to the field of data science and AI and job prospects. .  Read less

Before starting this course, I had doubts about its usefulness for me, as I have been working in the IT industry for 25 years. However, I decided to combine my practical experience with the knowledge gained from this Cybersecurity Boot Camp. Our instructor was outstanding, and his IT expertise was exceptional. Although I already had some experience in cybersecurity, I noticed that the students who had no IT experience were well-supported and could participate actively in the classes.
This program was not limited to theory only, and we got hands-on experience in pen-testing and system hardening. I consider my capstone project as my personal accomplishment, as I enjoyed conducting research and presenting my findings in the final assessment. 
I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in learning about cybersecurity. It's a valuable investment of both time and money, and it provides excellent opportunities for personal and professional growth. Read less

This cybersecurity class offered an exceptionally intuitive learning experience, making complex concepts easy to grasp. It explored the fundamentals of cybersecurity and delved deeply into the subject of them. The instructors' guidance was also amazing, offering clear explanations and readily assisting students with questions or challenges they encountered. took part time classes, the course and  labs overall were good but $15000 for such course is too much, I personalty paid this because they said it was an investment and after completing the course they will find me a suitable entry level jobs in data which was a big lie.
I would recommend new students looking to start a career, better to a graduate certificates, at least you can get a graduate job after that. Read less

My overall experience in the course was amazing, given the context that I just started transitioning to a tech role, coming from an entirely different one (healthcare role). I took the part time Software Engineering course, which ran for 6 months, with classes every Tuesdays and Thursdays (3 hours) and fortnightly on a Saturday (about 6 to 8 hours). I believe that this pace was quite helpful for me in the sense that I didn't need to absorb new information all-at-once and at the same time, still continue to do my day job. The course contents were pretty concise enough to give me an idea of the essential tools and processes to use in software engineering. It may not be everything, but they did what they can in the span of 6 months (+ allowing us time to build our capstone project in the last 2 to 3 weeks, combining everything we've learned). Mirza, our instructor, was consistent with his classes, utilising every time provided and showing flexibility by asking the cohort how he can be helpful to us in how we'd spend our times in the classes, should we have spare times. He was also there to offer support, when we need it. The student support staff were also responsive in our queries. Arshdeep was kind enough to check-in on me every now and then to see how I was going and to provide the next steps when I miss a class. Lastly, I have been enjoying the job outcomes information, with Komal as my contact person. I still haven't used much of it, as I just recently finished the course. In saying this, they still offer access to the job outcomes 12 months after the end of the course, which is helpful as I will soon look for software engineering jobs. Would I highly recommend this course? I definitely would, especially if you are someone who would want to know what's out there when starting over as a software engineer. It is going to be definitely a lot information-wise, but it's lovely to have a "why" as you take the course, and hopefully have a supportive instructor, and other like-minded students in the cohort. I am in the process of changing fields and have to learn a new skills. IoD's program has been been what I was looking for. I found the program a great way to transition into Data Science and Python. Not only did I found the online sessions easy, but the practical lab work was a great way to get a hands-on practice. With a full time work, IoD was also supportive in helping me navigate the workload and manage my deliverables. Both the teaching and the non-teaching staff have been great and I am looking forward to their on-going support which extends beyond the course time-frame. Read less

I recently completed the Software Engineering Bootcamp at IOD/UTS, and it has been a truly valuable experience in my journey as a student. The program is well-structured and covers a wide range of industry-relevant topics within a short timeframe. I'm a recent graduate of the Institute of Data's Professional Certificate in Data Science and AI. I completed the course part-time which allowed me the flexibility to continue working full-time whilst completing the course. It was also offered online which allowed me to squeeze it into my schedule. I would say that the foundational knowledge offered by the instructors was the key takeaway from the course. As this area is rapidly evolving and changing it’s difficult to update the curriculum as the course is being taught. So, my advice to prospective students would be to come with plenty of questions for your tutors on the foundational topics of the course and be prepared to keep up with the trends in technology in your own time.  Read less

I recently completed the Data Science & AI bootcamp at the Institute of Data, and I can confidently say it was a game-changer for my career.

The program is fast-paced and hands-on. From Python and SQL to machine learning and AI, everything is taught with a focus on real-world application. It’s not just theory — you’ll build full data science projects from scratch, using tools like Jupyter, Google Cloud, Airflow, and Tableau. I built a complete streaming analytics pipeline and presented it just like I would in a real job. That kind of experience is rare in most programs.

I completed the Cybersecurity program at the Institute of Data about three months ago, and it was an excellent introduction to the IT world. The course provided a comprehensive overview of cybersecurity that have helped me with the essential skills needed in the field. The curriculum was well-structured and go hand-and-hand with the CompTIA Security + Exam. My instructor and teacher assistants were knowledgeable and gave a lot of insight about working in IT.
