Simplilearn

I recently completed a six-month postgraduate program in cybersecurity through SimpliLearn. The curriculum was well-organized, focusing on industry-standard certifications such as Sec+, CISSP, and CEH. As a newcomer to the field, I really appreciated some of the instructors who had a talent for breaking down complex technical concepts in a way that made them more digestible. It’s not always easy to wrap your head around some of these topics quickly, and their clear guidance was highly valuable.

However, what I didn’t appreciate was the "bait and switch" tactic used by SimpliLearn in promoting this program. The major selling point was the claim that the curriculum was developed in collaboration with MIT, and that participants would receive a certification from MIT in addition to the SimpliLearn certification. During the program's induction meeting, the Senior Learner Success Manager, Uma Das, repeatedly emphasized MIT's involvement, ensuring that we would receive a certificate of completion from MIT itself. ("...you will receive a Simplilearn Post Graduate Cert along with Executive Program Certification from MIT Schwarzman College of Computing and CEH cert voucher from EC Council.")

Fast forward to the end of the program (The week of Sep 23, 2024), and we were only issued a SimpliLearn certificate of completion and a "Certificate of Achievement" from SimpliLearn, which vaguely references an "MIT Cyber Security Master Class." The only involvement MIT had was two live masterclasses we attended – nothing more. In hindsight, I suspected that getting a formal MIT certificate for $3,000 was too good to be true, and unfortunately, that suspicion was proven right. 

While the program's content is solid and worthwhile for beginners, I’m disappointed with SimpliLearn's marketing approach. The curriculum stands on its own, and there was no need to falsely hype it up with misleading claims about MIT’s involvement. For someone just starting out in cybersecurity, it’s a decent way to get your feet wet, but I wouldn’t recommend it for those with intermediate knowledge or experience in the field.

Coming from a non-programming and non-technical backgroud, Jose Sinu makes the most complex concepts of statistics and programming accessible to the layman by skilfully combining theoretical aspects, with examples, and the practice and execution of these concepts in the lab. I've come away from this course with greater confidence in my project  to becoming a Data Analyst.  Read less

Very good, instructor knowledgeable and course layout is good
Minor change needed in flow - What would have been great is to define a use case from the beginning and gradually build a system with each class - adding bit by bit
for example - lets build a library management system - class 1 - define variables - define a list of books, define a list of titles, define a list of members etc
class 2 - define class books, class borrowers 
class 3 - create a text file of library titles and instantiate a list of books from them
In this way we could have got the theory for each class and build bit by bit an actual system Read less

I recently completed a course that exceeded my expectations in many ways. The learning experience was well-organized, with a logical progression of topics that made the material easy to follow. The instructors were knowledgeable and approachable, always ready to explain concepts thoroughly and answer any questions.The hands-on exercises and assignments were especially helpful, as they allowed me to apply what I learned immediately, reinforcing key concepts. python course that covered everything from basic syntax to object-oriented programming. The curriculum was well-structured and engaging, making it easy to follow along. The hands-on projects provided valuable practical experience and helped solidify my understanding of the concepts. - Need to Improve Lab Storage and Latency.
- Need to update course material as per course requirement, currently few labs are mismatching as per module.
- It would helpful if we have few Doubts clearing sessions apart from LMS live classes.
- If possible need help with in-depth explanation and real life examples like in what scenarios we can use the learning.
- Course is focused on industry background people, it would helpful if we incorporate few things in live classes where non background can learn skills.  Read less

I’m writing to express my disappointment with Simplilearn's handling of my exam voucher expiration. At no point did I receive any notification or reminder that my voucher was nearing its expiration. This lack of communication caused significant inconvenience, especially considering how important it is for me to complete this certification.


For comparison, I had a much better experience with "The Knowledge Academy" when I took the Azure Solution Architect certification (AZ-305 and AZ-104). Their communication was clear, and they provided timely reminders, ensuring I could focus on passing the exams without worrying about voucher expiration.


Additionally, I’ve faced a frustrating lack of resolution from customer support. After following the guidance from the Help ChatBot and contacting account manager as instructed, I was redirected back to raise the issue via the Help option, only to be told to contact account manager again. This inefficient back-and-forth is unprofessional and has led to further delays. 
I strongly urge Simplilearn to improve its communication, both in terms of voucher expiration and customer support.  Read less

I signed up for the Post Graduate Cert for AI and Machine learning.  This was in coordination with Purdue University.  I had to use the pre-recorded teaching because I couldn't attend the scheduled classes.  I have degrees and certifications I've received online, and this was the worst online training I've ever received.  The images in the video weren't even related to what they were speaking about some of the time. I found myself researching most of the concepts through other free resources so I could actually understand.

I canceled and fortunately they gave me my $4,000 back.  UNFORTUNATELY, they've not stopped calling me since then.  Even after being asked to be taken off their list. Read less

I enrolled in the DevOps Master Program, which made several promises during admission, such as providing mock interviews and a one-year job portal membership. However, the teaching was not thorough, and while they claimed the course would be finished in 3 to 4 months, it actually took 9 months. Overall, it felt like a waste of money. Read less

Overall, it was a valuable educational experience. I have some coding experience, and I've been introduced to deep learning and machine learning concepts rather well. 
I had no prior experience with Python, therefore it was a great journey that gives me the confidence to advance my artificial intelligence skills.


This course provided an in-depth exploration of machine learning and deep learning concepts, making it an invaluable resource for anyone interested in these fields. The curriculum was well-structured, starting with fundamental machine learning concepts before delving into more complex deep learning topics. Key areas covered included supervised and unsupervised learning, neural networks, convolutional neural networks (CNNs), and recurrent neural networks (RNNs). Hands-on assignments were highly beneficial, allowing us to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world datasets, which reinforced learning and understanding.


The instructors were knowledgeable and approachable, effectively breaking down complex topics into digestible lessons. Their real-world examples and case studies illustrated the practical applications of ML and DL, making the material more relatable and engaging. The use of popular tools and frameworks like TensorFlow provided practical skills that are directly applicable in the industry.


However, the course could benefit from more advanced content for students already familiar with basic ML concepts. Additionally, a greater focus on ethical considerations and the societal impact of ML and DL would have been valuable. Overall, the course was highly informative and instrumental in building a strong foundation in machine learning and deep learning.
