This boot camp was amazing. They gave me the structure I was missing and the tools to keep moving forward. I had so much fun learning about programming with The Tech Academy. They start you off with some basics, show you some cool projects that you can do with just the basics, create a portfolio site and work a live project at the end to show off everything you learned. Then they build up your confidence even more with some job placement training. This was a great experience and I cannot wait to see what my future holds with this knowledge and training. Read less

The Tech Academy combines a group of diligent, thoughtful, and genuine instructors with a curriculum that is very easy to understand and challenging at the same time. I had a great experience with The Tech Academy. The only reason I say it was good and not great is because I took their cybersecurity course, which from my understanding is fairly new for them. It seemed to have more of a web development focus. Overall, TTA is amazing. The instructors are responsive and helpful. I’m a recent graduate from The Tech Academy’s C# and .NET boot camp.  I must say my experience was positive. I enrolled in this boot camp to enhance my technical skills and to get some official documentation for my resume to back up the skills I had already self-taught. I did all my learning remotely and in between my work schedule.

The Tech Academy coursework is up to par with the current job market. The background education they give at the start of the course was very helpful as it guides you through basic computer science fundamentals.  The curriculum is designed to be relatable, in-depth, and comprehensive. The instructors were responsive and helpful when I reached out. Once you finish the coursework, they have a job placement course where they prepare you to get your foot into the tech industry. Right from the start, there are people that are working with you the entire way and want you to succeed, from their recruitment staff to the staff that you eventually work with in Job Placement, they're all so attentative. With this course being paced by you and you alone, it leaves plenty of room for error, but thanks to the structure of the bootcamp, the instructors that keep up with you, and the constant communication between you and them, it's made so much more managable. They've taken an approach to teaching students from the ground up, starting with things like, what is the internet and how does it work, and even going so far as to do the same about your computer. Using things like this helps give an extremely well-rounded knowledge no matter which bootcamp you end up taking, and makes approaching the harder concepts much less intimidating. On my C# and .NET Bootcamp I first learned Python, HTML, CSS, and Javascript, so that they can prepare you and introduce you to webf applications with a good foundation, and because of that good foundation, finding a job was even easier than if I had went through a more narrowly-scoped bootcamp because it opened up far more doors than just working with C# and ASP.NET. I wanted to write a quick review of my experience with the Tech Academy so far. I am very happy with the approach that they've taken, which is one of laying in very basic concepts which are gone over and over and added to at a very appropriate speed. I found the explanations of concepts I previously struggled with to be very simple and they actually got me to the point of understanding.

An example would be the binary and hexadecimal number systems. Wow, when I write those words, even just the words sound daunting, but after the explanations, you really get it and the importance of these ideas becomes clear when you get to the point of actually writing code.

Writing code, even if the code you write actually works, is sort of a dead end if you can't understand why or how the code is working. You need to understand it all conceptually so that you can "think with the data" and not be a robot. And this last paragraph I've written here pretty much sums it up. I am starting to be able to think with the information I'm learning and utilize it in a creative way, and I'm certain that as I move along with my studies this ability will grow more and more. I'm very excited to continue in something that I now have confidence in learning about, which is going to be a a great enhancement to my ability to survive in this world, AKA getting a job and career in the tech industry. My experience thus far with The Tech Academy's Software Developer Bootcamp 


I started looking for a Bootcamp whilst still in high school as I would be graduating early and wanted to jump right into a post secondary option. I wanted to enter a dignifying field without the outrageous student debt, and pointless electives of college. I found that coding a was a perfect choice for me. Not only is it one the highest demand and fastest growing positions as of now, but also a challenging and engaging one. To top it all off a college degree isn't exactly required to land a job, and you can learn the necessary skill set from a coding Bootcamp. Which lead me to my search for one. After hours and hours of searching and calling I read about an award winning Bootcamp named The Tech Academy. I called in and talked to one of their very friendly student admission's staff. She gave me confident and honest answers to my questions and was not pushy in the least bit. Eventually I decided this Bootcamp was right for me. The courses began with a brief intro and some history of The Tech Academy. It then went right into teaching the basics of computers and other greatly informative facts about history of computers. Even after the first couple of lessons I felt so much more knowledgeable on the subject. The following courses helped me understand some of the basics of building software and how to read binary. After getting a firm understanding of the fundamentals I immediately starting learning HTML and CSS.  Then soon after the course had me learning JavaScript and SQL. In such a relatively short amount of time I've learned so much already. The staff at The Tech Academy are very responsive and approachable. If your looking into starting a Bootcamp I would highly recommend writing down some questions and giving them a call to learn more. From my personal experience I have 0 regrets and I am very glad I chose The Tech Academy.

The Tech academy is truly an amazing school. They aren’t a school who is just gonna take your money and not care about you. Even online I felt like I had constant help from the teachers and they always got back to me as quick as possible. Then once You finish the classes they help you every step of the way to help you get into the job market. I joined the Tech Academy after reading the other positive reviews about it. I had already had coding experience, but I knew there was more I could learn, and The Tech Academy delivered. Not only did I get to learn 3 programming languages, but I also got to build projects to put on my portfolio, given experience to work in a tech environment, and was given the tools to be able to grow on my own post graduation! Overall, highly recommended for anyone who is either new to programming or wants to build the skills they already have. Read less

I enrolled in this boot camp for more exposure to the specific languages covered in the program and to get some official documentation for my resume to back up the skills I had already self-taught.  This boot camp adequately served that purpose.

The program was definitely designed for someone with no prior experience.  It covered the basics but never really went in-depth into anything and most of the assignments required little independent thought and lacked real world applicability.  The portfolio you create during the program is mostly just following along with instructor videos and maybe making a minor customization or two.  This is not something I feel comfortable claiming as my personal work product.

If I hadn't needed the certificate, I would be far more disappointed that I paid $10k+ for someone to "teach me how to Google" (which is their constant theme throughout the program).  I could have learned the same amount just by working my way through w3schools.com for free.  Overall, I am not sure the level of content and instruction provided, alone, would have adequately prepared me to be a competent full stack developer. I just completed my Python course. I have to say the people at the Tech Academy are super awesome. The instructors are really helpful, and the instructors for the live project were fantastic to work for. 

I did it very fast pace as I was working full-time and doing the full-time schedule but they gave me some extra time to complete the project. Also, I had some life circumstances happen where I was not ready to take a tech job right away so they were really great in working with me and giving me extra time in the job placement course. I ended up deciding to go in the UX/UI design so I am doing that through The Tech Academy as well. 

My only critiques on the course materials are, (and this is minor) is the video production quality could be a bit better, and I wish the course was a bit more Mac friendly, but it's still great content regardless.  Read less

I recently graduated from the C#/.NET Framework boot camp at The Tech Academy. The curriculum is great, starting the student out with Computer & Technology basics course and moving into Software Development overview, Version Control, GitHub, HTML, JavaScript, SQL & Databases, Visual Studio and C#/.NET Framework. The courses work is done in a gradient manner starting off with the basics and moving into more challenging topics. The assignments and challenges test your knowledge and ability to take what you've learned and research to build on it to find the solutions. The final Live Project is an Excellent experience and introduction to working in a development environment. The instructors at The Tech Academy are always there to help and are very responsive. This is a self paced boot camp, and you need to be disciplined in order to keep up and stay on track. The school is very understanding if family emergencies arise as well. I came into this with a Technical background, but the way they lay out the courses, anyone technical or not can become software developer. Glad I picked The Tech Academy and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to change careers or further they're technical knowledge to make a move into another tech career as I've done.  Read less
