It had been a dream of mine to be a developer for years, but I never felt confident enough to go after it. However, the perfect opportunity came to me with The Tech Academy, and I put everything I had into it. I really can't say enough great things about the experience. Great instruction. I learned a lot about a lot of different technologies. I had my ups and downs throughout the six months of the full-time program, but I ultimately walked away having learned and experienced more than I thought I would. I'd recommend this program to anyone who has even the slightest interest in it or passion for technology. You will have to invest a lot of time into it, but if you really want to do well, you will have all the tools, support, and instruction you need—and then some. I just graduated and it was a great experience. I highly recommend The Tech Academy, the instructors were fantastic and the part time option was just right. I was impressed from the very beginning, no assumptions were made about how much I knew or didn’t know. The curriculum is designed to give you a solid foundation and build on that foundation. My time at the tech academy was an amazing rush of fun and knowledge. They start you off with the complete basics. Then you dive into it rather fast, BUT, it's structured so well that it's easy to learn as you go. I did it online, full time, while working and raising kids. If I'm able to graduate, you can too!

A bit about me: I came to this program by way of a career change and a non-technical background. I knew that I wanted to transition into cybersecurity for the remainder of my professional life, but I didn't know where to start really, as I didn't possess any deeper understanding of computers and information technology beyond that of an average user.
What I found in the Tech Academy was the perfect blend of independent study and accountability. Being in my late 30s and having already gone through traditional undergrad and graduate programs, I knew how to study, I knew I wanted to work from home, but I also thought that I would benefit from a structured curriculum vs. piecing together online resources while hoping those covered the basics. This balance was struck by the team at the Tech Academy. I set my own schedule, I could spend as much or as little time on the topics that were covered depending on my own comfort level with the material, and I was provided with an amazing foundational understanding of how computers and networks actually work. This introductory course helped immerse me in the language of the field and helped me better assess my own areas of weakness and the gaps that I would need to fill in before fully committing to a career in tech. I really appreciated this approach to the TA's curriculum. They assumed nothing and covered everything at a reasonable pace, providing additional resources if needed, as well as an incredibly supportive and response team of instructors who reviewed your work and provided feedback nearly instantaneously. This level of accountability and encouragement was truly invaluable, as it helped me overcome my fear of being an "imposter" and feel valued as a recent tech graduate who is armed with the right knowledge to begin a new career. I graduated from the Software Developer Bootcamp from the Tech Academy in 2022. As part of the bootcamp I completed courses on the following topics:
-Computer and Technology Basics
-Version Control
-HTML and CSS
-Javascript
-Database and SQL
-Python
-Project Management
-Visual Studio
-C# and .NET
-Job Placement

Each of these courses emphasizes fundamental knowledge that is important for understanding the larger concepts of software development. I was really pleased with the structure and design of the curriculum. Each course is very careful to work in order from simple to complex topics, with each lesson/assignment building on your previous knowledge. While there is a lot of reading and watching videos, there's also a lot of hands-on coding.

In addition to each of these courses, there are also two live projects. These projects happen over the course of two weeks and are meant to simulate and actual job environment. You work as part of a team of developers (other students) to complete tasks related to a larger project. Those tasks are assigned to you by a project manager (your instructor). You participate in daily meetings conducted according to agile/scrum methodologies to report on your work, discuss roadblocks, and get feedback from your project manager. I really enjoyed these projects as they gave me the chance to put my skills to the test in life-like environment.

Overall, the software development bootcamp helped me gain a strong understanding of object-oriented programming and prepared me to be an entry-level full stack developer in the tech industry. I'm really happy with my choice and grateful to the Tech Academy for the opportunity they've given me. Read less

The Tech Academy has changed my life forever ,thanks. The Tech Academy does an OUTSTANDING job in providing a highly interactive and properly organized curriculum. The daily reports to weekly reports and being able to get ahold of an instructor in such a short notice is what kept me accountable and made me feel i was apart of the team. Apart from the outstanding curriculum, the instructors and all Tech Academy family is what made my experience becoming a well-rounded Software Developer such an enjoyable process. I am more than equipped and prepared for my new life in the tech industry, but also was taught by the Tech Academy to become a professional in communication, respect for others and valuing others. I attended the online Software Developer Boot Camp at The Tech Academy, and I cannot speak highly enough about my experience. I appreciated the flexibility of their self-paced program; it allowed me to move through easier concepts faster and take more time on subjects that were more challenging for me. Once you complete your first Front-End course, you will start applying those skills right away by building your online Developer Portfolio, and you’ll keep adding to this and enhancing it as you work your way through the boot camp. 

My favorite parts of the entire boot camp were the two Live Projects which resemble an actual work environment and really helped me gain confidence in my skills. The Live Projects really tie everything together, and you will pretty much use everything you learn in the bootcamp during each one. The Version Control and Project Management courses are excellent preparation for each of the Live Projects. 

Any time I reached out to any of the instructors they were patient, supportive, and pointed me in the right direction without spoon-feeding me the answers. The Job Placement course and team are an invaluable resource that will get you well-prepared to hit the ground running for interviews. From Admissions all the way through Job Placement, it’s clear that The Tech Academy really wants their students to succeed. 

Although it’s not a requirement to graduate, I also highly recommend that you take part in their weekly in-person or online Tech Talks through Meetup where professionals working in the industry offer tips on how to get into and succeed in tech.

I started the UX/UI Design course with very basic computer knowledge. After just a few short months I am now able to design and create webpages! The curriculum was easy to follow. The instructors were so friendly and helpful. I'm now searching for a tech job and trying to get out of healthcare. This is the best thing I've done for myself and my family! Read less

I attended this bootcamp for 6 months as a Software Engineering student and this was HARD! But the academy, even though sometimes I did not feel as though I was grasping anything I soon found out as soon as I graduated and was free to do what I wanted and what I wanted to learn they, in fact, did help me learn and create a foundation in helping me to better understand this new tech space I'm now apart of. I came into the program with no coding experience. In my time as a student I was taught many important fundamentals on hardware, software, and even how to code with no prior experience. The Tech Academy took a chance on me without any issues. I enjoyed my time as a student. The courses are demanding and get more difficult as you progress. The instructors are great! Very knowledgeable. Always happy to help. I am happy The Tech Academy took a chance on me. I'm so happy I found them. The Tech Academy offers the perfect boot camps to prepare you for a job in the tech industry. They offer more background information on computers and technologies than I received with my 2 year degree. They offer great support for students.
