Yellow Tail Tech is a hybrid e-learning experience that offers Lnx for Jobs (24 weeks) training programs. Yellow Tail Tech combines online exercises with weekly live sessions, designed to fit each cohort’s schedule. Live sessions are typically held in the evenings to accommodate working professionals. Students should expect to spend 10 to 12 hours per week on coursework and activities.
Lnx for Jobs students will learn to install and configure operating systems, deploy virtual machines, manage user access, and troubleshoot performance issues. They will develop skills in web server management, networking, and writing Bash scripts.
No prior technical experience is required – all prerequisites are built into the curriculum to support non-IT professionals. Yellow Tail Tech follows a mutual fit selection process, granting acceptance after a career strategy session – a 45-minute 1:1 Zoom call with an enrollment advisor.
Students may also enroll in an optional internship program and receive individualized career coaching and mentoring.
Yellow Tail Tech is committed to career success – providing structured training, hands-on experience, and direct support to help students transition into IT roles. To ensure the best outcomes, students must meet specific conditions, including attending all live sessions, completing assignments, and maintaining a minimum score of 70% on all tests.
Yellow Tail Tech is a Maryland State WIOA Occupational Training provider, and students may qualify for state funding.
