My journey into the world of coding was driven by a deeply rooted passion for technology and problem-solving. After years of working in food related fields, I realized that my true interests lay in creating and innovating through code. For the past 3 years cybersecurity has sparked my interest, so I decided to take the leap and enroll in UNC-Charlotte's cybersecurity bootcamp. It was the best decision and an experience that I will remember for a life-time. I enjoyed the instructional staff and making new friends through the program. The instructional team and my peers were very supportive. I enjoyed working with other students to complete projects, and I was challenged to think in new ways. The benefits of this program included office hours to ask questions before and after class; utilizing tutors; and 24/7 live support. My advice to future students would be to set a study schedule, practice exercises, utilize tutors, and bring your own skills to the table. Everyone has skills, no matter your background, that will contribute to the cybersecurity experience. - 43Reviews12CoursesThePower Education is an online tech platform offering a 36-week, part-time full stack coding bootcamp, RockTheCode. I wanted a career change I’ve always been a tech person at heart, breaking things down and putting them back together. I wanted to take the risk and go into a bootcamp and being a local looked at all other options but ended up taking this one and I do not regret it. My instructors have been nothing but amazing! From the first day I felt the energy of the virtual room and took in the guidance he had for us, I have spent a lot of time learning this is not easy by any means. What I suggest is having an accountability partner so you can stay on track with your goals you do not want to fall behind. What I enjoyed is when things finally clicked! My instructor emphasized don't focus on the grades focus on the material make sure you understand it instead of chasing the grade and not understanding what you did. I am currently 3 months in and 3 months to go i definitely recommend this if you’re willing to put in the work and have a great experience here I’ve made friends here that will be my best buddies for years to come. - 37Reviews4CoursesRice University Boot Camps offer a 12-week, full-time web development course, 24-week, part-time, web development, data analytics, and cybersecurity programs... My interest in AI wasn't just academic; it was also practical, as I sought to integrate AI solutions into my company's operations. After exploring various programs, Rice's offering stood out due to its comprehensive approach, blending foundational AI knowledge with deeper, more technical insights. My journey through the Rice AI Bootcamp has been nothing short of exceptional. The curriculum is intense, designed to cover extensive material quickly, aligning with my expectations for a rigorous learning experience. The instructor deserves special mention; his dedication to both the subject matter and student engagement is palpable. Initially, his method seemed daunting, but it quickly became clear that his interactive style was meant to foster a deeper understanding and engagement, making the complex feel accessible. For anyone contemplating this course, here's my advice:- Brush Up on Python: Before diving in, reinforce your Python skills. There are plenty of resources online or in print that can help.
- Statistics is Key: A solid grasp of statistics is crucial as it underpins much of AI.
- Stay Calm and Engaged: The pace might be brisk, but give yourself time to adjust. Utilize the resources provided, like pre- and post-session Q&A times, and don't hesitate to seek tutoring for a deeper understanding or help with assignments.
My time at this Bootcamp has been transformative, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to seriously advance their AI knowledge and skills. - 37Reviews6CoursesUniversity of Minnesota Boot Camps offer a 12-week, full-time and 24-week, part-time web development courses, 24-week, part-time data analytics, cybersecurit... I was interested in finding a new career path since I dropped out of college after my first year. I was studying computer science and it just was not fit for me. I started looking into cybersecurity more and was very interested in all the different paths you could follow. Through my employer, I looked at bootcamps they provided and found this cybersecurity bootcamp through the University of Minnesota. I read what the journey through the 24 week course looks like, and I decided to jump in for the long haul. My experience with this bootcamp was beyond phenomenal. From the instructor to the TA's, you could really tell they wanted every single student to succeed. I could tell it was just as hard for them as it was for us students, but the passion they poured into this course was amazing. One of my favorite aspects of this program was working with my peers to complete projects. It was awesome to see how easy it was to work with them and how friendly everyone was. If I had to give advice to future students, I would recommend to make connections in your class and work with each other, whether it's on the weekly assignments, or if it is on the projects you have to complete. Having those connections will improve your quality of life during this bootcamp, and can also be helpful after you finish. I will miss this bootcamp, it was a great course and taught me tons of information. SMU Boot Camps

Their bootcamp offered an immersive hands on course experience which ensured I had the skill set needed to survive in a professional Software Developer environment.
TTT's course was not the typical class room/lecture environment. It was the kind of course which engages you to constantly learn by solving problems and creating projects (I'd like to mention that this was made perfectly clear to me before I enlisted). The hands-on course work included Object Oriented Programming (OOP), problem solving with algorithms, and creating many android applications that centered around specific functions with the addition of an Internship.
As a current Android Developer, I've worked at two companies now since my departure from TurnToTech; and I cant stress how similar the course work is to what I've faced on the job. To clarify what I mean, I'll give a quick rundown of how finding and working at a Mobile/Android developer role is like.
1) To get an interview, you need a resume depicting projects you've worked on as a Software Engineer. Thus my resume (I'll note here that I was a recent Nursing grad and the only job exp I had was at the Home Depot) compromised of small android applications which TTT's course provided to create and that I continued adding onto(polished them and added my own features), the internship project at TTT which I got to work within a dev team of fellow students under the instructor who I say acted as a product manager/lead developer, and my own small application which the instructors were more than happy to encourage/help me create.
2) To pass the interview, you'll usually need to answer various Android (or w/e you specialize in) questions as well as solve an algorithm challenge/s. Both of these topics I covered within the course. As mentioned, TTT's course includes a dive into solving algorithms and learning about multiple data structures. And besides creating multiple Android apps pertaining to all the major Android components, the course provides multiple quizzes (open ended and multiple choice) to help solidify your understanding over a specific topic. In addition, the intstructors themselves offer mock interviews that are similar to what you'll face in real life.
3) Once you get a job in any Software engineering role, you'll quickly realize how there isn't a one solution to fix all problems. You'll constantly be problem solving all day every day; and that is what I believe TTT excels at the most. TTT teaches you how to create/find the answers yourself. By being a bootcamp, which encourages students to become self-proficient, they prepare you for the everyday environment where you're expected to produce without much help.
To wrap things up, the experience I got at TTT was great. For the negative reviews regarding the nature of the course, those people missed the point of the bootcamp. This wasnt a standard college course substitute. TTT was a place that accepted me with zero software development knowledge then prepared me for a software developer job in under a year. So yes, if you attend this course and have a question about a problem you're stuck on and the instructor kindly encourages you to find the answer on StackOverflow, its because thats what you'll be doing every day within your software developer career.

I decided to join the boot camp because I wanted a career that I could be proud of and that would allow more flexibility in my schedule.
During the boot camp, I had to grow parts of my brain that had never been used before. I had to work most nights and weekends, and sometimes I was exhausted.
But on the flip side, I got to play with creative solutions, make “art” in my designs, and make new friends. I also learned a ton (zero to developer).
Also, my instructor was amazing- so patient and helpful, and he went far and above his required time to push us through to the end.
Most importantly, I got to show myself and my daughter that you can do anything you set your mind to, and that hard work pays off. She and I both had to sacrifice during these 6 months, but it was worth it to show her what dedication looks like.

"I decided to embark on this course because I like technology and I was drawn to the idea of becoming a software developer. I retired as a classical ballet danc"I decided to embark on this course because I like technology and I was drawn to the idea of becoming a software developer. I retired as a classical ballet dancer after 20 years and decided to completely change my field of study, which required a tremendous emotional storm. However, through methodical study and measured approach, I always stayed present and never got ahead of my own thoughts.
I enjoyed every single challenge, but the biggest one is working accurately in such a short time. A three-hour class may seem long, but I assure you, it's not enough time. You need to always work ahead.
My humble advice to other students: if you are going to do the bootcamp, I can tell you, it is worth the time and effort. There is so much infrastructure around that will help you succeed, but you have to be willing to put in the hours (and endure some mental strain). As a retired ballet dancer who was used to moving and exercising for over 8 hours a day, in terms of mental effort, this bootcamp was the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life: and I would do it again if I had to. I enjoyed every second of it." NGT Academy

My only regret is not taking advantage of it sooner, and if you're reading this, hopefully you won't wait as long as I did.
I spent 15 years in my first career, a full-time Middle School English teacher, but despite the time and commitment I was putting into my job, I rarely felt like my compensation matched the effort I put in to my job, but teaching was such a specialized field and when I thought about leaving, I always assumed I would need to spend lots of time and money if I ever wanted to change careers, so I habitually talked myself out of it. Finally, my wife and I reached a point where we realized that we would need some expensive medical help to expand our family through IVF and no teaching jobs where we were located in St. Louis offered insurance coverage for those procedures...I needed a change of career to a field that would support me and my family through this need, and that's what finally pushed me into looking for a change. After interviewing and researching multiple options, I ultimately settled on the Full Stack Coding Bootcamp through Washington University- St. Louis, and boy am I glad I did.
The program appealed to me in a wide-variety of ways. The most convincing aspect of this boot camp was absolutely the program's unique appeal to old-school and new-school methods of thought alike. In a six-month intensive boot camp, I would be exposed to the most up-to-date and groundbreaking technology and languages (sometimes these can go out of date/style during a 4-6 year degree path) while also having the prestige that a well-regarded University like WashU provided in the eyes of more traditional hiring entities. In reviewing upwards of 15 programs, this was a unique combination that was truly only offered by one place.
When the program began, I was worried because so many of the members of my cohort were younger or had done coursework to prep them for this class while I was coming in totally fresh. I quickly learned that the program adapts to fit the unique needs and personalities of the members within it. I cannot say enough kind things about my teacher, Tom, and my TA, Matt, both of whom took the time after their own full-time day jobs in the tech field to give us experienced, competent, flexible, and confident guidance throughout our course. More importantly, as a teacher in my "past life", I was impressed with the instructional style the program offered. The teacher and TA would provide instruction and demonstration of a skill, and then, in a breakout room with one or more peers, I would work through a coding activity with my peers that required the skill just reviewed as a class. This format gave me the support needed on activities that I found particularly difficult as well as the freedom to learn hands-on and "figure it out" when going through the activities with my classmates. Even if my classmates and I couldn't figure something out, our teacher and TA were constantly floating from breakout room to breakout room to ensure support was provided to those who needed it when they needed it.
I also really loved the challenges and group projects. With each weekly challenge, I found myself building full stack applications that could do things I only dreamed about designing before this program. The inclusion of three major group projects similarly allowed me to learn what it would be like to work collaboratively on a development project and truly prepared me for my career. More than that, I got an opportunity to work closely with a lot of people from different backgrounds than my own, many of whom have become valuable resources and close confidants during the boot camp process.
Halfway through my boot camp journey, I began applying to jobs and sending out my resume thanks in part to encouragement from my teacher and TA, who told me it was never too early to start getting technical interview experience. I was lucky to get a couple of interviews and actually got offered a job as a Site Reliability Engineer at Mastercard while my boot camp was still going on! Suddenly, I was making twice what I made as a teacher, working a hybrid position that gave me more time at home, and getting the necessary insurance coverage I needed so my wife and I could grow our family. I was making my dreams come true, and this boot camp had so much to do with that.
I am fully satisfied with my experience, and rather than pivoting away from boot camp and focusing on my new job, I've made the decision to commit myself fully to doing both for the remainder of the boot camp because of how valuable I found the content of the course leading up to my eventual hiring. Advice that I would offer to those considering this program is to do whatever it takes to get yourself enrolled. Make the leap of faith, block out the time in your life, let your support system know you're going to need them pushing you and keeping you motivated for the next half year and SIGN UP. For those who have already taken the leap, my advice would be that you get out what you put into this program, so don't try to skate by and work through the program with as little interaction with your instructors and peers as possible. The people who thrived in my cohort were the ones who talked during breakout sessions, who asked questions when reviewing concepts, who showed up to office hours before and after class each night, and who took advantage of the numerous resources offered by the program's strong support structure. I'll say it again (and a million times if one more person out there hears me): this program helped my change my life and that of my family. I am eternally grateful and can't say enough good things about it. - 14Reviews2CoursesNC State Digital Skills Bootcamps are online, technical provider offering programs in in Cybersecurity and Software Development. Every instructor I had was great and they seemed genuinely invested in me actually learning the material, not just passing an assignment. This took almost every issue I have had with school and threw it out the window but was able to keep me engaged and accountable anyway. The career section at the end was invaluable and I still can't believe how straightforward it seemed to jump from a mediocre job with little future to the job I've always wanted and plenty of room to grow. I can't recommend this program enough, it genuinely opened more doors for me than I could have thought. Some of the instructors still reach out to see how I'm doing and to make sure I was able to reach all of my goals. Overall incredible experience, just make sure you are able to hold yourself accountable and put the hours in! - 13Reviews5CoursesMichigan State University (MSU) Boot Camps are 24-week, part-time web development, data analytics, and cybersecurity courses, and an 18-week, part-time digit... We had hired a few different web development companies but no one ever really delivered what we were looking for. So I decided to go to school to learn for myself. I looked at multiple online bootcamps but MSU just seemed the best option all around, which was confirmed after speaking to the admissions staff who took the time to actually ask, care and direct me to the program that would best suit my needs. At this point I had ZERO schooling for web development and had been running a WordPress site only, had not had a computer class since the 6th grade. I was so nervous to begin but if you are thinking of taking that first step all I can say is..... DO IT!
I was assigned an exceptional instructor who brought patience, understanding, intelligence and real world practical experience and advice to the classroom. He was ALWAYS helpful, I ask a million questions (that's how I learn) and he has always made sure every one of us students fully understands the subjects and concepts he is teaching. Between the classes, the instructor, office hours and tutors, the Virtual Learning Assistant there are so many tools available to assist you. They foster a team environment to learning and my teacher really made all of the difference in my learning experience. I knew it would be fast paced because it is a bootcamp but it is still enough time to get a good understanding of each module. Each week is a new module (subject) that layers on what you learned the last week. At the end of every week a challenge (assignment) is given to do on your own that is due the following week. Some weeks have starter code others must be built from scratch. It is very effective at teaching how to build from nothing and modify existing code.
I went to MSU to learn how to fix our website and have found my one passion in life, being a web developer.
Advice for new students or people thinking about enrolling? Follow the schedule, utilize the resources like office hours, tutoring, especially the resources the teacher will share in Slack as well as the weekly emails from the Student Success Advisor, those all contain REALLY good information that helped me learn. Work with the other students, we have a dedicated channel and server just to our class to ask each other for help and/or answer questions, learn in a variety of ways, watch videos, read docs, muscle memory, write examples, etc. Do not get overwhelmed! I tried to stay ahead of the challenges (assignments) and spend that 20 hours a week outside of class reading, researching, learning. I know it is a LOT but it you can change your entire life in 6 months with this incredible class from MSU. Cydeo
