The first eight weeks are focused on learning the principles of JavaScript (that can be applied to other programming languages), as well as using popular frameworks such as React and Express. This includes two days each week of mini projects in a group of four to put what was learnt into practice. The latter eight weeks are spent working on two four-week projects, one of which is for an actual client.
The curriculum is open source, mostly based on contributions from previous alumni, and is improved after each cohort based on Agile principles. There is a course facilitator that oversees the process, whilst for the first eight weeks there are mentors from the previous cohort to coordinate the self learning.
I would highly recommend the course - it teaches you the technical as well as the personal skills required to become a software developer. Being able to learn in a safe environment, with support from your peers and the mentors, was invaluable. Although it was intense, and a lot of information to take in, it was definitely a rewarding experience. Our cohort also became a close knit group that still meet quite often as well!
Founders and Coders provided me with the groundwork to pursue my career in the tech industry, and I will always be grateful that I was welcomed into such an amazing community.

My choice of Beetroot Academy can be considered a combination of external factors and a comparison of conditions with courses from other schools that I considerMy choice of Beetroot Academy can be considered a combination of external factors and a comparison of conditions with courses from other schools that I considered. And as it can be understood, this comparison was in favor of Beetroot Academy. But let's go through it all step by step.
At first, I chose another school, but I encountered a bad sales manager who initially promised to meet me regarding the cost of the course, as at that time I couldn't afford to pay for the course in one payment. And then he even suggested taking a loan to pay for the course. Since the characteristics of IT courses concern only the teacher, the program, and the final results, and sales managers are not related to this, I will skip the name of the school.
So when this option fell through, I started looking further, and I preferred Beetroot Academy precisely over Projector due to the following factors:- longer duration of the course (4.5 months compared to 3);
- broader program and more workload on the course (Beginner and Middle level topics, 2 two-hour lectures/practices on weekdays + 4-hour practices every Saturday as opposed to only Beginner level topics and 2 meetings of 2 hours);
- choice of your own topic for the graduation project (instead of the whole group creating different variants for a real client based on a specific task, which the client paid for, to have the graduates choose his task, as it happens at Projector);
- not the least reason was the work of the sales manager, who provided me with the level of service that was not in the first failed option and the usual communication with the sales manager from Projector, whose interest in getting me on the course was not felt.
Moments that I liked on the course:- support from the academy throughout the course;
- the teacher! Her level of knowledge, ability to explain, interest in the success of students, willingness to help with every question that arises;
- own LMS, where each lesson has homework, several video lessons, and a lot of quality textual information taken from various well-known and not very reliable sources;
- slight changes in the program or individual homework at the choice of the teacher — it was done to give us only the necessary knowledge, based on real cases in practice;
- a well-thought-out process of defending the graduation project and the ability to defend it in English;
- friendly community within the group and overall at the academy;
- the presence of educational events, workshops, and free career counseling for each student;
- cool merch for all students;
- the ability to split the payment for the course into a convenient number of parts.
Moments that I didn't like on the course:- somewhat outdated links to some information;
- in general, the order of video lectures sometimes confused, and sometimes there was a feeling that the videos were taken from previous versions of this course;
- the teacher's answers to questions about the course/graduation project, even within the allocated time, were long and postponed to another day, despite her online presence;
- minor errors in tests and in some places not very well-thought-out UI/UX in LMS.
I can say that the course completely met my expectations, even despite minor negative moments. As a result, I implemented the final project of this kind: a Telegram bot, to which I connected artificial intelligence (open-source LLM) and implemented the ability to communicate with it (ask questions and get answers) exclusively using voice messages.
I recommend Beetroot Academy to everyone who wants to get a quality base in Python.LEARN Academy

Says: LEARN: The most well-rounded and experienced bootcamp in the San Diego area
When deciding on which coding bootcamp there are several key factors when need to consider, and in this review, I will explain those key factors and how LEARN AWhen deciding on which coding bootcamp there are several key factors when need to consider, and in this review, I will explain those key factors and how LEARN Academy proved to be the best professional educational decision for my goals.- In-person vs. online: I started my LEARN Academy cohort in February 2020 and for better or worse was able to experience both the in-class and online (Zoom - remote) version of LEARN Academy as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In an ideal world, one should attend the in-person experience in order to further solidify friendships within your cohort, the teamwork aspect of being able to discuss code in-person with a whiteboard, and just the general fun of being able to walk around the classroom with a Kombucha in your hand and see what your peers are code. Nonetheless halfway through my bootcamp, we pivoted to remote and we didn’t skip a beat. I feel that all aspects of the curriculum were maintained and we were even able to quickly start utilizing important digital tools more heavily (Git, Slack, VS Code Liveshare) that are fundamental for remote dev work in the future anyway. Overall “in-person” I feel is ideal for learning, but LEARN was super successful in replicating the “in-person” experience online.
- Internship: The internship is a TREMENDOUS value add for choosing LEARN Academy. I had the opportunity to join a company and work alongside 5 developers at a fast-growing startup in San Diego (keep in mind I started to learn to code just 15 weeks prior). My internship was extended and I continued to work for 10 months at the same company gaining practical coding experience every day. I was hired as a contract worker with no benefits, but nonetheless, it was an invaluable experience to work on actual production code. The internship is guaranteed for 4 weeks but I would say ⅓ of my cohort was asked to extend for 1 or more months and they were also paid for their extensions and were able to put actual development work on their resumes.
- Tech Stack: The tech stack I learned while at learn was React, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Ruby on Rails, and Postgresql. All of these technologies are widely used today and if you are new to the industry they serve as a solid foundation to grow from. My internship was entirely in Vue but I used my React foundational skills I learned at LEARN to rapidly learn the basics of Vue (over the weekend from when my classroom experience ended and internship began the following Monday).
- Quality of teaching instruction: During my course, I had three daily instructors committed to my cohort ~6 to 1 student to teacher ratio (they pivot the number of instructors based on class size). All in all the teachers I had were able to meet me at my learning level and explain complex concepts into more easily digestible content. They were ALWAYS available to answer questions and held office hours. Like most things in life you get what you put in, so make sure you ask questions all the time and ASK for help when you need it. We also had an excellent Professional Development week, led by the Career Services Manager, and in addition, had access to other developers at several of the dev agencies that were in the same building. If my instructors didn’t immediately know the answer to my question or debug my problem they were able to get back to me with my answer in a timely manner. In addition, we had various guest speakers and panels (from the SD tech scene) which made class each week super interesting.
- Prep Materials: The best resource that LEARN offers in terms of preparation for the bootcamp is their JumpStart weekend. I highly highly highly recommend you participate in that weekend as that was the defining experience that made me decide whether I liked to code and whether I had the confidence in myself to pick up skills quickly over a short period of time. I went into my cohort with about 2 weeks of prior Javascript training and the JumpStart weekend but it was really not enough. I highly recommend people begin studying at least 3 months prior to your cohort (I fully realize that is easier said than done, with life and work, but anyone who came in with prior coding knowledge in my cohort accelerated their learning 2x-5x compared to myself who just wrote my first line of code 14 days before my first day of class.)
- Facilities: LEARN Academy classroom was GORGEOUS in Union Co-work near Petco Park in downtown SD. Unfortunately, I could only attend for 8 weeks due to COVID but the surrounding made you feel like a true web developer in the chic industrial glass-lined classroom. Also the free Kombucha, coffee, tea, and beer (after hours) wasn’t too bad! They also have two main classrooms so we were frequently able to do check-out (sharing what you learned) at the end of the day and learn what the other cohort who started before us was working on that day.
- Community: The LEARN Academy Community is the most vibrant tech career pivoter/bootcamp community in San Diego hands-down. Pre-COVID LEARN held bi-monthly meetups in its classrooms, celebratory cohort get-togethers, project demo days, and evening guest speakers. Now the community of course has shifted remote, but the online Slack community is also super active. On Day 1 you are welcomed into the Slack group and tons of people who were in your shoes starting the bootcamp who now have fancy developer jobs in the San Diego area (and beyond) are willing to help answer your questions and refer you to positions. Once you are a LEARN alum you enter a network of tech leaders at major tech companies throughout San Diego/California and beyond. One additional thing (which I think they still do), is if you want they pair you with another LEARN grad to serve as your Mentor. To this day (Jan 2021) I still meet with my Mentor each week and he has been an invaluable resource post bootcamp for skill development, motivation, and job search help..
- Growth Areas for LEARN: 1) Improvements to my experience include a more clear path of what milestones I needed to achieve in my coding skills before being ready for Day 1 of the bootcamp. I was provided resources but had no idea where to start. I believe that they are now offering propriety prep materials to new students (I just haven’t reviewed them as they were not available to me when I started) 2)Focus more curriculum time on unit testing. We learned Jest Javascript testing (for maybe 1.5 weeks) I feel like it is a critical developer skill that I personally did not pick up quickly and should be prioritized earlier. 3)Introduce earlier data structures and algorithms into the curriculum, as many technical interviews nowadays focus heavily on them. Overall at the end of the day with 12 weeks to go from 0 to junior dev I understand it is tough to squeeze it all in, regardless LOTS of personal self-study is necessary to keep up with the pace of the class if you come in with no prior coding skills.
Overall, there are plenty more points to speak about when speaking about LEARN but at the end of the day after three months of classroom instruction, I was successfully contributing to an agile development team at a tech company in San Diego. The process to prepare for the bootcamp, take the bootcamp, and perform at your internship is INTENSE. The skills to learn to code is like learning a foreign language you constantly need to have a growth mindset and practice, practice, practice. 10 months after my bootcamp I am still growing and learning each day and that never changes. You must have it within yourself to persevere, be a self-starter, and make many many many personal, financial, and family sacrifices to have a chance at getting a junior developer position in 2021. With that being said LEARN is the most well-rounded and experienced resource available in the San Diego area to place your faith in to prepare you for a successful life-changing career pivot.QuickStart

I was interested in finding a new career path since I dropped out of college after my first year. I was studying computer science and it just was not fit for me. I started looking into cybersecurity more and was very interested in all the different paths you could follow. Through my employer, I looked at bootcamps they provided and found this cybersecurity bootcamp through the University of Minnesota. I read what the journey through the 24 week course looks like, and I decided to jump in for the long haul. My experience with this bootcamp was beyond phenomenal. From the instructor to the TA's, you could really tell they wanted every single student to succeed. I could tell it was just as hard for them as it was for us students, but the passion they poured into this course was amazing. One of my favorite aspects of this program was working with my peers to complete projects. It was awesome to see how easy it was to work with them and how friendly everyone was. If I had to give advice to future students, I would recommend to make connections in your class and work with each other, whether it's on the weekly assignments, or if it is on the projects you have to complete. Having those connections will improve your quality of life during this bootcamp, and can also be helpful after you finish. I will miss this bootcamp, it was a great course and taught me tons of information. - 35Reviews4CoursesRice University Boot Camps offer a 12-week, full-time web development course, 24-week, part-time, web development, data analytics, and cybersecurity programs... While there was an immense amount of material covered, it was done in a very methodical way -- covering the basics of how to think like a computer programmer, as well as running through the fundamental technologies of web development as it currently stands, in an intuitive order that would build on prior units of material. This doesn't go into immense detail for any one technology (not enough time), but it gives you the groundwork upon which to build your technical skills, and links you to a supportive network which will help you build the other (non-technical) pieces of being an attractive job candidate.
Our instructional team was an excellent combination of personalities, both extremely generous with their time and patience. I would take a class with these two (or either one) again if I was looking to.
Make sure you have enough free time carved out (like 20-40 hours a week) so you both don't get too far behind or psychologically 'lose it'! This is an extremely intense 24-week class -- but if you're willing to put the time in -- even if you don't fully 'get it' yet -- you will pass the class. The good news is this isn't graded like a 'weed out' class -- they want you to succeed and they know it takes a while before you're actually 'good' at coding. As long as you submit enough assignments, participate in the three big projects, and attend enough classes, you will pass, even if you aren't fully grasping what is going on. With time and more practice, you will eventually grasp it -- thinking in this particular way is very difficult, thus takes a lot of time for it to become 'easy' -- no wonder it pays well! - 33Reviews5CoursesBeachCoders® Academy offers 4-week, part-time, front end web development and UX design courses near LAX in Manhattan Beach, California.
Parsity

From a top level perspective, it checked off a lot of the boxes I was looking for: fully remote learning environment with the flexibility to work at my own pace (and either full-time or part-time), continual mentorship and support from the staff both during and after the program, and insanely good value when comparing their price to the average cost of a coding bootcamp.
The curriculum was very well structured with a natural progression of concepts. The first half focused on the Front End - We started with a review of JavaScript fundamentals and CSS/HTML before moving on to DOM manipulation, working with APIs, and then diving into the React framework. In the second half of the course, we transitioned to the Back End, learning how to build our own web servers and databases with Node, Express and MongoDB before putting everything together and developing Full Stack applications. At the end of each week, we were assigned a mini-project that covered what we had just learned. These were very challenging, but always engaging and I really felt like I was building something practical while working on them.
Despite the bootcamp being fully remote, I still had great opportunities to collaborate with other students. In the middle of the course, we had a week-long paired programming hackathon, and towards the end, the entire cohort worked together on a group project simulating an Agile-style sprint in which we were tasked to develop a functioning Full Stack application in 2 weeks. I'd say this experience along with our independent final project was probably where I learned and grew the most. Everything really came together here: putting all the coding skills I'd been honing to use, working/communicating in a group setting (and dealing with the unique challenges this can present), planning out design and structure at a larger scale, using Git flow effectively, and presenting an app as if demoing to a client. These projects were easily my favorite part of the program.
On top of that, I received a ton of support from Parsity in the job search after graduating. First of all, we had dedicated time spent solely on career development, including refining our resumes and LinkedIn profiles, writing effective cover letters, networking, and preparing for the interview process. I also had access to a fantastic Career Services Coach that met with me frequently and was always available when I reached out. I got a ton of helpful advice that was tailored to my own particular job search, as well as mock interviews structured for the specific companies I was focused on. The assistance I received after graduating was invaluable, and ultimately played a huge role in me landing my first developer job.
All in all, if you're interested in programming and want to shift your career trajectory, I highly recommend Parsity. I never would have believed a year ago that I could learn so much in such a short timeframe and actually get hired as a programmer. But it's true - coding bootcamps are a totally viable pathway and Parsity is a great one with great value. Enrolling was one of the best decisions I've ever made.Command Shift

I would usually meander and get lost, whether it be in documentation, or when attempting to accomplish something.
Having peers to work along with, and being given a near-real example of what the environment was very helpful. It helped immensely with setting up expectations for myself during the search. Where before there was definitely a fear of the unknown, I have found myself much more comfortable and settled in.
While I am not the one directly talking to the client, I do end up in meetings just like those simulated in during the course.The post-graduation career support is also quite nice. It is easy to get depressive or discouraged during the job-search. You could easily slack off when you need to practice.
It is very encouraging to have guaranteed assistance in checking a resume, verifying a employer (I did get one very suspicious offer), and deciding on when/where to settle a contract.
Overall, I had a great experience, and I would happily recommend it to friends if they ever asked.JayJay

I first learned about SDG while searching for coding schools in Florida. They were offering a test drive class at the time so I decided that would be a good place to start and see if coding was for me. Well, that class left me wanting more and I fell in love with the staff so I knew I would be attending their academy.
The academy is tough. I commuted to school every day which made the long hours even longer. But it was worth it. Mark was my instructor and he was amazing. He could take all the technical jargon and turn it into English and then break down all the steps and pieces for us. The projects start off easy and get harder the further along you get in the course. By the end of the course, you can deploy an app or website from scratch. The academic part of the academy really pushed me out of my comfort zone and I am so grateful. After my graduation the pandemic caused the world to go into shutdown but I was able to take on freelance projects successfully because of the skills I learned from SDG.
There is also a soft skills/career prep section in this academy. I came into this with a lot of soft skills so that information wasn't new to me but I could see how valuable it was to some of the younger dev students that haven't had as much work experience.
The career prep is focused on this industry and for the Tampa area. That was so valuable to me. I haven't been in the area long so I didn't have a network for the job search. Well with SDG you get to use their network and they have made great connections all over The Greater Tampa Bay. This network was key in helping me find my job.
During the career prep, they help you with your resume, LinkedIn, interview prep both the conversational part and the technical interview.
You get tons of help and support after graduation in finding a job. I was amazed at how SDG lived up to its promise to help you in this area.
I'm now working for my dream company doing my dream job. I am still pinching myself how everything worked out. I'm not going to lie it is hard but it is worth it because it is life-changing. CodingInvaders

Last year this time my coding skills were near to zero and now I am starting a full time job as a developer. I am so happy I discovered Technigo and this courseLast year this time my coding skills were near to zero and now I am starting a full time job as a developer. I am so happy I discovered Technigo and this course put me in a place I see myself building my professional career and just becoming better and better within web development!
To start off, I really liked the format of the course and the positive vibes built around it. I liked how 'colorful and smiley' it was, it was important to me to get to a school that is not too numb, boring, traditional and 'old-school' as it's not for me. At the same time I feel like I learnt a looooot of serious and practical stuff with Technigo.
Some things I liked:
- course is clearly divided into weeks and sprints. Each week you work on one project which you can put to your portfolio. Each project focuses on one particular tech stuff but you're free to modify it as you wish. You have access to coaches via slack/stack overflow from Monday to Friday.
- professional set up. Access to the study platforms, useful links, being part of the community and having access to Slack.
- Technigo organises so many cool events for networking and just for having fun (last year they hosted Figma Config Stockholm party)
- Also, for students in Sweden, Technigo organises coffee meetings at different companies for networking. I think some of these events were online, so people from other locations could also join. That was really amazing to visit offices and talk with the members of the tech teams.
- Technigo offers a great Coaching Programme where we learn about LinkedIn, presentation techniques and how to get into the industry!
- Being in a small group with other classmates, working closely with them and independently. Having the classmates to support each other and of course to complain a little bit ;)
My study time at Technigo was from January to June 2023. In November 2023 I got an internship as a developer and now in January 2024 I got a full time job (different place than my internship) [so probably would have got it even without doing the internship].
As I was working full time (office job) during my bootcamp, it was quite challenging to be a perfect student. However, I decided that "it's better to be the worst one among the best ones, instead of not knowing anything". I felt like I needed to go back to the most of things after the Bootcamp. Which I did, and I now I feel confident about my skills within these topics. I also believe that topics that Technigo's bootcamp covers are definitely enough to get a job as a developer.
Just everyone applying should remember that even the best school will not guarantee you become a good coder. You have to code a lot on your own to achieve great results. But Technigo was a great way to start coding, get routines and learn about tools, and to get excited about coding. I think it was definitely worth the money, the time and even some stress I encountered during that time.
If I met myself in November 2022 (when I came across the bootcamp first) I would enrol myself again and maaaaybe just asked at my work place about possibility to work 85% instead of 100% ;) as that was really hardcore to work 40h and and then study 25h a week.
