However I feel the experience could be variable for its students if they were in a different location with a different set of instructors. I feel this could be amended with a stronger curriculum, and a focus on the entirety of the development process from creating to deployment. I felt the final weeks of the program was more rushed on teaching how to deploy a site and the backend program could have been more developed. However i understand the rushed nature of the bootcamp and as a student and in any future career you need the initiative to supplement the parts that are missing. I participated in an intensive full-time UX Design bootcamp. For the duration of the 3-month program, we were challenged significantly and had to put our personal lives on hold. The first week was a bit concerning since we were placed into groups and...I participated in an intensive full-time UX Design bootcamp. For the duration of the 3-month program, we were challenged significantly and had to put our personal lives on hold. The first week was a bit concerning since we were placed into groups and meant to create an app concept in 1 week (a sprint) with little guidance. It turns out that it was meant to challenge us and take us through a mini version of the entire program in 1 week, and we would eventually learn how to do things the right way later in the program. The UX Design bootcamp is very fast-paced with consistent weekly project deadlines, so it will take some time to get used to this.
Our instructors and TAs were very supportive and always happy to help throughout the program. I attribute a good amount of my success to my one-on-one time with them because they really helped me to understand some of the material (if you need help, reach out to them). Their grading felt very nitpicky at times, but it's only meant to help us improve as designers, so I wouldn't take it personally.
The career services team is also very happy to answer any questions and support us. I appreciated their availability and encouragement during and after the bootcamp experience. Ultimately, finding a job is a feat in itself and may require a lot of time/effort after bootcamp. Great Online UX Bootcamp
I had a great experience learning at BrainStation. It has a comprehensive curriculum and the educators & TA's were engaging and supportive throughout the whole process.
It started out slow in the first 2 weeks, but quickly...I had a great experience learning at BrainStation. It has a comprehensive curriculum and the educators & TA's were engaging and supportive throughout the whole process.
It started out slow in the first 2 weeks, but quickly became rigorous with many hands-on projects that built up my skills quickly. There were lectures as well as workshops during class, and on top of that, you'll work on a relevant project for every unit, and a final capstone project. There was also an industry hackathon, as well as career support such as resume writing and LinkedIn profile set up. They also support you post-bootcamp with job search.
It's a really tough 12 week program, but if you put in the work, take advantage of the 1:1 meetings, make and maintain connections, you'll get a lot out of this program that'll prepare you for the industry!
