The course is very helpful, especially if you are new to the field. SQL part covers almost all you need to learn by yourself further. I'm glad I took that course. I got confidence in what I want, and I plan to move forward with Data Science Bootcamp. Overall experience is very positive; instructors are knowledgeable and helpful. This course id fast pace! it will be over before you know it. I took this course in Jan 2022 and I have learned a lot! 
Which brings me to my second point. Don't ever feel overwhelmed! Although it is fast paced course and will cover a lot of topics, I never felt like the lecture was rushed or overwhelming, one of the reasons was because my instructor, Ryan, he is very knowledgeable, well-spoken and he won't move on to the next topic unless he is sure that everyone is up to speed. Also, I never felt more comfortable asking questions mid lecture, you can ask questions beginning, mid and end of the lecture, Ryan was very welcoming for questions or concern. I was very uncomfortable when I started working with the software tools specially tableau, but seeing Ryan teach it during lecture there is something about his way of teaching that makes it so simple, maybe because he literally thinks out loud of what he is doing and the process of creating SQL code or creating work sheets and dashboards in tableau. Which bring me to an important point, DONT MISS LECTURE, if you don't have a choice, you'll have the slides to go back to, they are not as detailed and informative as the lecture but at least it gives you an idea of what they went over and the topics covered and then you can search them online. Lectures are not recorded; I could see why they are not and I understand. Homeworks are really helpful, they are not graded. There is a final project and presentation, you can work in groups or individually.

Overall my course in BrainStation exceeded my expectations. Even with my option of choosing the accelerated course (5 weeks rather than 10) I was able to comprehend and have enough time to grasp all of the information taught. This is thanks to the instructors. Both, the lead and assistant instructor, did great jobs with answering questions and ensuring everyone was on board and up to pace. I would highly recommend this course to expand knowledge and to get a jump start in the job market. Read less

I started this course with no background in UX, any sort of design or even tech, but gradually with the amazing guidance of the course instructors I was able to quickly understand different elements of design thinking, research, sketching, presentations etc. So happy that I made this decision. BrainStation's online web development bootcamp was one of the best education experiences in my life. It was the best and intense ~3.5months spent on learning skills with intangible results. After graduating from the bootcamp, i am now able to pickup and learn other programming languages and skills i could never have imagined.
The instructors and the teaching assistants for our cohort were SUPERB! We also had help available almost always which made it easy to push through the program. The instructors and TAs made it very easy to pick up new frameworks and languages in such a short span. 
 The syllabus and content covered was good especially if this is your first coding experience. This program gave the structure I needed in addition to covering the latest and greatest features of the frameworks we learned. That is one of the biggest pros of attending a live program unlike a self-paced course on Udemy/Youtube or other learning platforms where course content is outdated and no help is immediately available.
The only con in the program is the career support- they should try and seek help from previous graduates who’ve landed jobs to refer current graduates. In spite of numerous job applications, i found it difficult to get an initial call from recruiters. Going through referrals would have really helped. I ended up going back to a job in the same field prior the bootcamp. However, i continue to keep in touch with coding so my learning journey continues.
I would definitely consider taking other courses at BrainStation in the future. :) Read less

My experience at BrainStation has been phenomenal! The tech stack that they teach you throughout the program (React, Node, Express, MySQL, SASS) is extremely current and popular, but if you want to branch into using some other tools, the Capstone Project is extremely open ended and you are fully allowed to step outside of the tools and frameworks that they teach in the program. The quality of the curriculum was incredibly high and the education team was extremely skilled and helpful. I particularly appreciated the presence of Teaching Assistants. All of them were recent grads from the bootcamp themselves so they had to tackle the same obstacles and challenges that we did as students, meaning they could very easily see where we were coming from and help us find a solution to any problem we were running into. Career Success team is also great, though I am just now starting to job search so I don't know how valuable anything I can say about the job assistance would be. I can say that they have been very supportive throughout the program and they have outlined a plan to keep in contact with students and help them in their job search throughout the next few months. I loved the experience! It was really challenging, a lot tougher than I thought prior to starting, but definitely worth it.
The instructors are knowledgable and approachable, the education support team was great and they have a very well structured career support programme too.

I really enjoyed the project based learning environment at BrainStation. The instructor allowed us to bring our own work project & ask questions with regards to our work outside of BrainStation, related to the lesson plan. Overall, the class went in depth with the units my only regret was not taking a digital marketing class prior to gain a deeper understanding of the topics.  Read less

My experience at BrainStation was quite a nice surprise. Considering the 4 year University education that I am used to, BrainStation was quite refreshing as there was less emphasis on structure and more on learning. The class size was quite small about 13 people or so, this was great as you got to spend more time with each other and really get to know pretty much every student even though it was online.

While BrainStation does have an in-person campus their main specialty of delivery is Online, this is underlined by the fact that the in-person facilities are mostly just rooms where you bring your own devices (laptops). Therefore I recommend that you give the Online option a try as they are very convenient and you save on transportation.

The course material was very current and the software used was also what the industry uses right now. At the time of writing the course used Figma and InVision for their design software, Slack and Zoom for the communication side of things. The enrollment process was very smooth and quick, they have a few scholarship options along with a payment plan to make things a bit easier on the finances.

As for the job end, in this current climate I would say being connected to your instructors through LinkedIn along with the Alumni community is all you really need. Pretty much any University run career advisor would have a similar approach. Part of what makes it easier to grow in UX design is the portfolio, whereas other non-portfolio jobs you mainly trying to grow your resume, which can be hard depending on where you started in the corporate ladder.

Overall I had a wonderful experience during my 10 weeks at Brainstation. I recommend this to anyone wishing to get back into the industry and also bring up to date knowledge to wherever you will be utilizing your skills. Read less

To anyone wanting to learn the basics of coding, the Web Development course at BrainStation is a great start. At the end of the course you'll for sure be able to build a responsive web page. And throughout, your instructors will provide you with enough resources to even exceed expectations on your final project - like many did in my class - and for you to feel confident to develop your skills on your own. The instructors are very nice, friendly and helpful, I received responses every time I had a question for them.

I highly recommend this course for anyone who is looking to get into data/business analytics. It gives a great foundational overview of Excel, MySQL, and Tableau. There's a good mix of both theoretical and practical knowledge. There are labs and optional homework associated with each week's class, so you choose how much effort you want to put into it (although there is a pass/fail project at the end of the course). The most valuable part of the course is that you'll use these skills to complete a data analysis project and presentation, for which you'll receive live feedback from the instructors. It really helps you prepare for job interviews and what to expect as a data analyst. My instructors, Ryan and Thomas, were fantastic - both were willing to answer questions about course content and career development, and even take extra time outside of class to support. They were both knowledgeable, explained course concepts clearly, and were engaging when they spoke. 

I took this course as someone who has experience as a Business Analyst, but no formal training on my resume (e.g. a certificate or degree in a related field). I believe the course will give me more credibility in case I'd like to switch industries. I was slightly under-challenged by the course material since I have some experience in the field already, but the great benefit of having course instructors was that I could ask them more complicated questions about problems I find in my day-to-day work. Despite that, I found it was an affordable course for what I was looking to achieve.  Read less

The course is very fast paced, and it is a lot of self learning. Do not go into the course expecting answers to be handed to you. The educators provide you the toolset, but as a student, you need to take the initiative to actively research the topics that you don't understand. A hunger for knowledge and a love for problem solving, I think is very beneficial to succeed in the course.  Read less

This Data Analytics course turned out to be an extremely fun course that spanned 5 weeks. The instructors were very knowledgeable and extremely patient, and often went out of their way to ensure all the students were set up with the software and had no issues. The curriculum was very thorough, the pace was right even for beginners and the small class size allowed everyone to have their questions answered. The great thing about this course is that it will teach you the right ways to ask questions about the data, manipulate it, and figure out the best visualizations to form a compelling narrative. What can be a very dry topic turned out to be extremely interesting with the instructors proving real-world analogies. Highly recommend this course to anyway who is either starting from scratch or looking to brush up on their Excel, SQL, and Tableau skills. Read less

Available to learn to be a data analyst - what is data as basic, using other tools MySQL and Tableau as well as Excel. If you are willing to grow your career in data analytics, this could be the best choice. However, it is recommendable to take this course especially who really want to develop professional skillset because sometimes students need to study hard in advance. Of course, this would be depending on your knowledge or background. But, from my experience, it is recommendable. In my case, I took 5 weeks once a week, I tried to review for the next lesson in advance, which was very helpful for myself. Instructors are so well organized because two instructors are associated to give lecture at the same time it's possible to support the student who have difficulty during the session. Learning Support team is also good because giving very prompt reply with appropriate solution. For the lecture, it is very practical and inspiring to get more motivation to study using data. If you want to be a good career in this field, please do not miss a chance to be alumni of BrainStation. Knowledge cannot be taken as long as you get it.  Read less

Brainstation's Cybersecurity course is an effective kickstarting course for anyone with little to 'zero' knowledge of the cybersecurity space. The instructors brought with them a wealth of knowledge and first-hand experience which contributed to the overall learning experience. My sole critique (a side from not being able to do in-person learning) is the fact that the course is quite theoretical (think university) and I would prefer a more practical learning option (think college). Overall I learned much from the Brainstation team and look forward to further my learning in this space.
