The curriculum covers the core concepts and skills that are required for a Data Scientist. With topics covered ranging from querying relational databases with SQL, building and evaluating machine learning models, and exploring how to use Big Data tools, I feel like I am ready to tackle any task that I might encounter on the job. The homework assignments provided opportunities to apply the knowledge learned in class to practical scenarios.
The educators are very knowledgeable and are excellent at delivering the lessons. They are also very easy to reach when I required additional assistance. The Career Success team has been great at keeping up with my own personal job search after I had garduated from the bootcamp, and are also very easy to get in contact with whenever I needed job hunting tips.

I was hesitant at first because I've never done online schooling before, but...I had a really good experience with the UX Design Bootcamp at BrainStation. Throughout the 12 week online bootcamp I met other aspiring UX Designers throughout North America. I was hesitant at first because I've never done online schooling before, but it turned out to be a great experience. The first two weeks were fairly chill, as they introduce you to UX but the remaining 10 weeks were quite intense. The educators in the BrainStation program are industry pros and knew the material they were teaching and worked hard to really make sure we were supported throughout the experience. The pace of the program was intense and if you want to do well, you have to put the work in, but the end product is worth it. Having a background in design definitely helps but the educators and support teams at BrainStation provide resources throughout for the content that was taught and the programs used throughout. We primarily used Figma for UI work. The weekly projects provide a good practice for the theoretical learning and an industry led 24 hour Hackathon gives interdisciplinary working experience (where you design a concept with UX Design, Web Development and Data Analysis students). The job support is ongoing even after the educational aspect of the bootcamp ends, with regular online meetings to chart progress and keep students motivated while assisting them with CV reviews and interview prep if required. Here is the actual syllabus:- Introduction to Digital Marketing - what are some digital marketing tactics, what is a customer persona, general steps to defining a marketing goal, KPIs, customer journey
- Content - what is content marketing, what are keywords, how to develop content pillars, what is copywriting, how to write a CTA and effective headlines
- SEO - what are SEO and PPC, how organic search works, how to plan and select target keywords, how to apply SEO to website
- Paid Search - what is PPC and how it works, what is quality score, keyword match types, what is a typical ad campaign structure, tips for writing ad copy, what are display and remarketing ads
- Websites - what are the components of a website and landing page, difference between a home page and a landing page
- Google Analytics - what is GA, how to look at various reports in the GA platform
- Social Media - what is each social platform used for, differences between organic and paid content
- Email - elements of an effective marketing email, how to use Mailchimp, why use email marketing, spam regulations, what is a drip campaign, different types of emails, how to map email to customer journey
My general feedback is that you can get all this and MORE for FREE at HubSpot Academy.
I chose this course because I was intrigued by the idea that we would be doing a project and it would be hands-on. I was hoping that the instructors and classmates would be able to help me shape my digital marketing strategy project, but I felt like their answers were always surface-level. In most cases, the instructor read straight off of the slides. I could get the same education from reading articles and watching YouTube tutorials. The main benefit for me was that it gave me a weekly structure to prompt me to complete my digital marketing strategy for a client.

The course consisted of 9 3-hour lectures, with a 10th dedicated to final presentations. The two deliverables were a final project, and a mid-term strategy submission that outlined key elements of that final project. The lecturers were clear, knowledgable, and approachable, and slides were made available to us both in advance of the lecture and after. I think future students might benefit if the course structure was shifted to allow for more frequent check-ins on learning progress, and possibly from smaller class sizes (to make this manageable).
