Overall, I enjoyed my experience as a Wyncode student. I greatly appreciated the tight-knit community and the support that was offered not only by my own classmates but also by the TAs, the other instructurs, and by students in other courses. The co-founders were very involved throughout this journey and I felt genuinely comfottable addressing them and other menbers of the administrative team.

One thing I do note is that this is a TRUE BOOTCAMP. Meaning no matter how well you may think you know the material, because of the work load and the amount of projects, assignments, networking events, break out sessions, personal tech ventures, etc., there will come a moment at one point or another when it all may feel overwhelming, when you have no time to mindlessly do nothing with friends and family, and when nothing makes sense. However, this is completely normal, and the few who have the drive to persevere will be greatly rewarded by potential employers, investors, and other prominent members of the tech comminity. 

There will be sleepless nights, most of your time will be spent at Wyncode (incliding nights and weekends), and your stress level and misery at the moment will drive you towards becoming closer to your peers than people would generally become with their classmates in traditional academic environments. We laughed together, literally cried together, and we often took care of eachother's children and pets while our classmates interviewed and presented. At Wyncode, you truly gain a new family and set of friends from backgrounds you never thought you'd have the opportunity to know so well. 

The incredibly rich variety of content presented is both challenging and prepared me to better understand and learn other concepts and languages that were not part of the curriculum. They provide a complex structure of learning material and when presenting it, they ensure everyone understands what's going in; no one gets left behind. I feel a part of my academic curiosity was unlocked in a field area I never expected to be so interested in. 

Again, my experience at Wyncode was far greater and more rewarding than what I had at any other higher education institution. I highly reccomend it, and I support their goals, vision, and methods of execution 100%!

I was intrigued to take this course after attending a Digital Marketing workshop led by the Digital Marketing instructor Sarah Budeja - her knowledge and skills are what really made me feel confident that taking this course would give me skills that would propell me forward in my career. There are various units within this course that were absolutely invaluable such as Google Ads, Google Analytics, Paid Search / Social and the list goes on. Something that is also amazing about these classes is that there are so many interesting and brilliant individuals in the class of all age groups and walks of life that really add a fresh perspective to discussions and projects. After taking this class I feel confident I can take my career in the direction I want it to go in. 

I chose to enroll in the online UI course at Brainstation. With my work schedule along with other commitments, I thought that would be the best approach for me. 

I’ve learned a lot of technical skills about UI including InVision, Sketch, prototyping, wireframing and creating high fidelity screens in 10 weeks. My instructor were helpful and always made themselves available.  I would say the one negative I had, is I wish we had more time to get more in depth with sketch. I know that it was a part time course, but it would’ve been better to have more practice in class. Overall though, I enjoyed my time at BrainStation.  

Coming from a traditional accounting/finance background, I wanted to build the necessary skills to pivot my career into the realm of quantitive trading using machine learning. Reflecting on my personal experience, it was quite incredible how much we learned within 12 weeks of intense studying. There is no opportunity to slack around as we move incredibly fast, therefore, it is imperative to keep up with daily lectures and assignments. What you put into the program is what you will get out!

The instructors were friendly and did a good job of explaining complicated topics in a relatively simple manner. I appreciated that the instructors allocated time covering fundamental statistics and general programming before diving deeper into more complex topics. Furthermore, they were also happy to answer my plethora of questions and took time to help out wherever possible. As a whole, the Brainstation community is welcoming and the staff put in significant amounts of effort to ensure everyone has a positive experience.

If I could do it over again, one thing I would ask for is an additional four weeks to the program. This would allow us to cover more advanced concepts in further detail while also granting more time for our capstone projects.

This program helped uncover a hidden passion for machine learning which inspired me to advance my knowledge even further in a post-graduate degree focused on this subject.

My recommendation to anyone coming to Wyncode is to spend as much time prior to the course as possible learning about coding.  Don't rely on just the prework to prepare you for the course.  Subscribe to youtube channels about coding, complete the coding modules on code academy, and learn as much about CSS, HTML, and JavaScript as possible so the first few weeks of the course go as smooth as possible. 

I had an incredible experience at Wyncode.  The curriculum is great, the instructors are very helpful and they really work hard to make sure you get the most out the program you can.  The program is by no means easy, but if you are willing to put in the work you can get through it.  More than just teaching technical skills, they teach you how to learn quickly and efficiently and how to be comfortable being uncomfortable.  #NeverStopLearning.

I am going to keep this short and concise as I know everyone is busy! My time at Brainstaion was one of the best three month periods of my life. I came into the course unsure of the result, and concerned about the course load. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the learning environment was malleable, and the educators adjusted to suite your needs as well as strengths and weaknesses. From my point of view, their education model is somewhat of a futuristic approach, mainly in the sense that you feel like you are learning and moving through every day on campus. I strongly reccomend BrainStation to anyone interested in the fields they specialize in!

The data science bootcamp held in Vancouver is an intensive and fast-paced program. I was impressed by the amount of real-world skills attained over the course of only 12 weeks. Despite the limited time constraint, the instructors did an effective job at conveying the key fundamentals of data science/machine learning. If there had been an additional few weeks to the bootcamp, we would have likely spent additional time on more complex topics. Overall, the instructors were friendly and happy to help out with any questions. Highly recommend this program to anyone interested in a career within data science!

What you put into this program is what you will get out. The more effort one puts into mastering the material outside of the classroom, the greater the benefit to them when working on their final capstone project and overall success with recruiting.

I was at a point in my career where I felt like I only had soft skills. I felt as though looking back in my career I hadn't really "progressed" that far in experience and when looking forward I felt a lack of trajectory.

BrainStation gave me control over my career. I am now learning something new every week and even from the point of graduation (a few months ago) I feel as if there's an ocean of knowledge and skill gained.

I'm now working full time at a fintech company and I'm making about 20k more than I was before. This gets me excited because not only do I love what I do, but I get compensated well for it (even for an entry level position).

For anyone questioning whether they should take this course you'll need to ask yourself these few questions. Are you ready for a challenge? Can you sit in front of a computer for hours on end trying to learn (which does get easier with time)? And are you willing to take a risk to give control over your career?

I joined Brainstation’s Data Analytics Winter 2019 session with Brand Ambassador Program. It was a pretty big class (15 persons) with a diverse background (private and NGO, for self-learning and for office productivity). Our 10-weeks class was mainly thought by Nabeel (he was clear in explaining themes and data terms for ordinary people like me – thoroughly recommended!) supported by Nicole when it was closer to final project (she was patient and very constructive in giving feedback along the journey to our final project). Both instructors were brilliant data analysts, and I wish I could spend more time to learn from them.

The classes were progressing very quickly, and you need to be self-disciplined to get the most of them – reading materials before class and practice the exercises. The primary challenge was creating your final project. You and your team will set the tone on how deep your final project will be – and I was lucky to have mine as we were having so much in finding New York City’s drunkest neighbourhood!

Overall, I recommend this class for those who are totally new or just have a basic understanding of data analysis. Understanding advance Excel, SQL and Tableau definitely bring its perks to your work especially if you want to present data into a professional, polished look without looking "too-extra" and to be comfortable with numbers and storytelling of the numbers.

I took the BrainStation Data Analytics course from January 2019 to March 2019 and a really awesome experience. The whole course, from the way it was managed to the material that was taught, felt very professional and like there was a lot of thought put into it. 

The professor was very approachale and used relevant examples from his field of consulting work to help introduce complex concepts to the class. He was very patient and most of the course felt very interactive, with the students following along and working through each program (SQL, Tableau, Excel) together. 

I work as a strategist for a marketing firm and took the course to become more data literate and advocate for a data-backed appraoch to strategy. I learned a lot about data management, what constitutes as good data and how to clean up bad data. The group project helped us apply our learnigns and is where we practiced gleaning insights from big data sets. 

Since the classes are only once a week it's really important to try to make it to all of them. I did however have to miss one class and the professor offered to give me a quick one on one session before our next class. The more you put into staying on top of the course material and doing the assignmnets, the most you will get out of it. The course is also a great way to meet people working in an industry that you're either hoping to get into or trying enhance your current role in. 

All in all, I had a great experience and will definitely be taking another course in the fall! 

This class is a must if you are interested in Digital Marketing.  From day one, the curriuclum is built for you to learn then implement for the final project you present at the end of class.  Brainstation also got an great teacher for the class who was a praticing digital marketer which allowed her to answer even our most obscure questions.  Do yourself a favor take this class.

I have a small start-up and wanted to obtain more information about online marketing when I happened upon the programs offered by BrainStation. The Digital Marketing course provided the perfect overview to help me understand what I was up against.

The class was a mix of professionals honing their skills, recent graduates layering their resumes and the inexperienced in need of guidance.

The content was thorough and goal oriented. It was obviously applicable to all experience levels. The instructors were knowledgeable and engaging. The feedback they provided upon completion of the course was invaluable.

I am looking forward to continuing studies at BrainStation. Up next, Social Media Marketing!

I had just completed the Digital Marketing course at BrainStation New York. It had been a positive learning experience since my first class with BrainStation. The instructor truly cares for students and went above and beyond by coming early or staying later to answer our questions or give us career advice. The course touches on the fundamental aspects of digital marketing today, which built solid knowledge foundation for me to be able to create and execute effective marketing strategies. 

I had a really good experience with the BrainStation UX Design part-time course. This is a 10 week long course that meets once a week in the evenings. Because it's only 10 classes long, it's VERY fast paced. The environment was great though - being surrounded by other professionals who were motivated to learn was greatly motivating for me too. The instructors were great, super approachable, and actual industry professionals which was very important to me. Overall I really enjoyed my time in class and came away with a strong knowledge of UX and a project to showcase in my portfolio.
