FourthBrain is a 15-week online Machine Learning Engineer bootcamp with both synchronous and asynchronous components. Students should expect to dedicate 15-20 hours per week to a combination of live and independent work. Students complete work at their own pace during the week, and then meet every Saturday for live instruction with an instructor. FourthBrain is part of the AI Fund, founded by Andrew Ng.

FourthBrain bootcamp students will begin with an introduction to AI, machine learning, data science, and cognitive systems. The curriculum covers XGBoost, bagging, boosting, and data imbalance problems. Students will use tools, such as Python, Tensorflow, Keras, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and Matplotlib. FourthBrain students will also learn Tensorboard for modeling and visualization, Spark, Hadoop, Mapreduce, Dask, MySQL, Spark SQL, and BigQuery. The curriculum teaches MLOps, which includes Microsoft Azure, Google cloud, AWS, AutoML solutions (TPOT, SageMaker), and pipeline solutions such as Kubeflow and MLflow. Students will learn convolutional neural networks, recurrent neural networks, and encoder-decoder networks. The bootcamp teaches students how to apply deep learning methods to computer vision, perception and other complex scenarios, and how to utilize generative adversarial networks for data and model scaling. The bootcamp also teaches students the soft skills they need in today's workforce, such as good communication, remote collaboration, and combating bias in your work. Students will work on a team project and give a final presentation.

No prior AI experience is required to apply, but FourthBrain applicants must have a minimum of 1-2 years experience coding in Python, Java, C++, or other object-oriented languages, a solid foundation in mathematics and statistics, and a willingness to approach new ideas with an open mind. While international students are permitted to apply, FourthBrain can only help US residents with finding employment. Potential bootcamp students will be asked to complete an online application and technical assessment, and will then have an interview with the FourthBrain team to review their background and career goals.

FourthBrain students receive 1:1 career coaching, resume reviews, mock interviews, job search assistance, guest speakers, and employer introductions.

    Decent, but not worth $6k

IntroI just completed FourthBrain's MLE bootcamp with the 9th cohort to go through the program. There aren't really any reviews online, so I wanted to leave one.
TL;DR It's not worth $6k, and I wouldn't recommend the course to anyone. However, it's not a total scam, and I did get some value out of it.

Longer version The course is a 16-week bootcamp, which is done part time. The websi...

Thanks for your detailed feedback; we truly do appreciate it so we can improve. Thank you also for sharing that you did accomplish your goal of building actual end to end ML projects even with some of the challenges you mentioned.

As you alluded to, our program has evolved over the past two years. We evaluate the program constantly to make sure we are offering a program that helps students find a place in the ML industry.  It has shifted to include more students with data backgrounds, and teach more software engineering principles. As our program evolves, so does our admissions process. We have students from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, with a variety of goals; we think this makes the program stronger.

We assess each student carefully to ensure that we are able to help them reach their goals, whatever they may be, and that we can meet each student where they are (including via 1:1 time with instructors).

We are sorry to hear about your experience with the curriculum and instructors; we strive for the best experience for our students, and it seems we missed the mark here.

Above all, our number one goal for each of our students is that they meet the goal they set out to meet at the start of the program. We hold ourselves accountable to making sure students get the skills and outcomes they are looking for, and we hope that you were able to achieve your goals despite some of the issues you mentioned.

Thank you again for your feedback, we appreciate the input as that helps us incorporate it as we constantly improve the program.

    Definitely not worth your money!!

Some Instructors are racist toward South Asians and people who don't look and talk like them. The curriculum is pretty sloppy. I think a udemy course would be a much better investment of your time and money.

We are surprised and very distressed to hear this as building a diverse cohort with different viewpoints strengthens our program. If you are comfortable sharing additional information with us directly, we would like to directly investigate and address the situation.
