A bootcamp that promised a nice curriculum, then they keep changing it as they want (no Coding or Sketch as the promise). A lot of classes were just they teacher talking non sense, without learning anything. Another teacher was asking us to do the homework in class, and she was turning off the camera on Zoom, so 3 hours of quiet time. They promise the last month of the bootcamp will be about job hunting preparation, but of course we only had a few hours. 8 months after finishing the bootcamp, non of the US students got a job. I was deciding between DevX School and Flatiron school. After doing some research, I decided to go with DevX. The cost was very reasonable, they give you many options from being able to pay the full amount up front, split it to monthly payments or pay a small percentage of your salary after you’ve landed a job. It’s an intense 6-months course but it’s totally worth it. Some of the students do come back as mentors, I think it gives students an extra boost of motivation. If for some reason you weren’t able to make it to a live zoom class - you can rewatch it from your dashboard later on (if you signed up for this option). We worked on several projects as we navigated our way through the curriculum. I would say that the support we got from DevX was the most motivating and inspiring aspect because they want you to succeed. And they give you everything and more to successfully graduate and open the world of tech for yourself.  Read less

Choosing DevX School was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. It helped me advance my carrier as an SDET tremendously. The course structure and content, delivery style of all the incredible teachers and all the support I have received from the whole DevX community was absolutely amazing. Askar, Madina, Dan, Marat, Nurs and all the other DevX teachers and mentors have been extremely helpful and supportive throughout the whole course. It was a great pleasure to study at DEVXSCHOOL. Initially, I had doubts since I had 0 IT background. I knew how to use a computer but when it came to coding and building something I was totally lost. But at the beginning of the course, we really started from basics so everybody was on the same page. This helped a lot when instructors build knowledge from roots so students could pick it up later by themselves. As a beginner, I always had questions and the instructors were really responsive and helped me a lot. Also, the friendly environment of support from my classmates. To be honest I saw people quit in the first 2 weeks but if you stay and really study there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We helped each other and the information provided from school was really helpful in preparation for job interviews as well.  Read less

I was part of the first batch that started in March 2021. There are a total of four teachers and four classes throughout the course.

Classes: UX/UI Design (Axure), UX Soft Skills (Figma), Mentoring, and HTML/CSS. 

Only two of the four teachers were helpful during and after the course. Thank you, Ryan (UX Soft Skills ) and Zoya (UX/UI Design)! I would say that my only two complaints about the UX/UI Design classes are that: 1) I wish that we had live demos for Figma and Axure. I just feel that if students are paying to take these courses; then using Youtube, Udemy, etc to learn the tricks of Figma and Axure should be used as a secondary tool ... not as a primary tool. The classes were mostly lectures and/or reviewing and giving feedback on homework/projects.  2) We did not learn Sketch or Adobe XD. 

One teacher in particular,  whom I will remain nameless, was so disorganized .... we could tell that she didn't plan any of her classes ... she was just winging it. Anytime you ask her questions she would often tell us to look it up ourselves  ... or she wouldn't answer the question, she'll just go off-topic. Oftentimes, she repeated herself or just talk about absolutely nothing just to kill time. Honestly, it was so bad, that only 3-4 students bothered to show up to her live classes (on average). 

Job assistance was non-existent. When the course is completed, you are on your own. There wasn't even a proper goodbye to the students. Even though their website states that there is job assistance. That is simply not true for the UX/UI Design course.  It felt like the owner neglected the UX/UI Design students in favor of the SDET students. Also, the owner of DevX School suggested to us that we lie about our work experience to "get ahead". If you're okay with doing that, then perhaps this school is for you. If not, then I suggest you attend a school that has good job placement assistance/connections to companies, so that you can get your foot in the door without faking your resume.
