Devmountain is a coding bootcamp that offers short, full-time in-person and online programs in Web Development, Software Quality Assurance (QA), Cybersecurity, and User Experience (UX) Design. The programs are designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the tech industry. There is a Devmountain campus in Lehi, Utah for those who want to participate in-person. Devmountain's immersive courses require 40 hours of class per week, and 10-20 hours of work outside of the classroom. The part-time programs require 11 hours of class per week, and 10-20 hours of work outside of the classroom. The school was started in 2013 in Provo, Utah.

The Web Development track covers front-end and back-end engineering (JavaScript, HTML/CSS, AJAX, Axios, React, Bootstrap, Node.js, Express, and PostgreSQL). The User Experience course covers prototyping, visual/motion design, Figma, UX research, and  wireframing. Devmountain instructors are all coding industry professionals and aim to bring real-world applications into the classroom.

Devmountain is beginner-friendly and no experience is necessary to apply. The first step to applying for Devmountain bootcamp is to check out the courses and start dates. Once the student has picked a course, they must submit an online application. Next, students speak with a member of the admissions team by phone to further discuss the program. After the phone call, students must complete a challenge to ensure the program is a good fit. Finally, the admissions team will notify students if they qualify for acceptance.

    The best challenge ever!

This course is really challenging, but extremely fun! There wasn't a single day I didn't want to come to school because everyday was something new and continued to push my learning. Also, the comradery formed with other students and the instructors made it really fun and motivating to come to class everyday! I really can't believe how much I learned in such a short amount of time. This course is a no-brainer for anyone interested in web development. I would do it all over again if I had th...

    Great Program

I attended DevMountain from July 2016 - November 2016, and must say, it was the best educational experience I've ever had.

This program is more about learning how to learn, than it is about learning how to code. The most successful people, as far as I've seen, are the ones who were disciplined, and put in as much time as possible to learning everything they could possibly take in each day. I basically had to tell my friends that I didn't exist for three months, ignoring my phone ...

    Accelerated Education

DevMountain offers an accelerated education one that cannot be found at most colleges or can be found after 4 painstaking years of education. This program wasn't easy by any means, however it was well worth the money. The ability to code is a remarkable trade that so few people know and can do. DevMountain gives you the tools to create incredible applications.

I graduated from Devmountain in January, and it was a fantastic learning experience. My instructors, Mars and Joey, were incredibly knowledgeable and supportive throughout the course. I also want to extend a big thanks to Taylor from the outcomes team for assisting me with resume preparation and conducting mock interviews, which significantly boosted my confidence.

    Challenging and fun

I had a lot of fun learning and exploring new topics about code and java that I had no idea existed. Foundations was a blast, the intro to coding curriculum was really well thought out with how each of the lectures and labs were laid out as well as the weekly tests. It challenged everything I knew about code previously while expanding on everything we learned through out the week. The capstone was the pinnacle of foundations with how much it challenged our knowledge to building something...

    Web Dev Specs

DevMountain provided me with an immersive and comprehensive web development bootcamp experience that significantly accelerated my journey into the tech industry. The curriculum was well-structured, covering a broad range of topics from front-end to back-end development, ensuring I gained a holistic understanding of web technologies. The hands-on projects were particularly valuable, allowing me to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. These projects not only enhanced my cod...

    Great Bootcamp!

I can honestly say that I have learned and feel ready to work as a software developer.  I am grateful for the team at DevMountain.  I welcome the curriculum to learn the first half in JavaScript and focus on your specialization the second half.

    A New Life Path

After spending over 8 years in traditional college classes, I struggled to find a work-life that I truly enjoyed.  After being referred to Devmountain by a friend of mine, I was able to see that the career and lifestyle it supported aligned with my personal goals in a big way!  I'm so glad I found this cohort, and was blown away by the friends, and faculty I met.

It was an intense experience but probably one of the most rewarding and self fulfilling things I've ever done in my life.

It was an awesome experience that helped lay the foundation for my new future. The instructor, Marohn Howard fostered a safe place for learning and community during the course which was mirrored by the rest of the faculty both during and after graduation. I could tell that they really wanted me to succeed and I felt supported the entire way. My only regret is that I wish I had done this years ago...!

Devmountain was a great place for me to kickstart my software development career. The curriculum that was taught gives you a really good foundation in software development. The instructors really care about what you are learning and about the individual students as well.

    Outdated Material but Instructors Helped

Foundations material was great and gained valuable experience there.  In the iOS Specialty Section the material hadn't been updated in 4-6 years.  Anyone who knows how Apple and their tech advances knows that's horrible.  It was hard to follow along with videos when the functions they are using and the buttons they are clicking down exist anymore or were moved.
As I was graduating they were updating the material after several instructors quit over it and everyone I came in contact w...

    Intimating but fun

I should've started this years ago. I started off super scared and intimidated and ended up completing the courses feeling comfortable and confident. It was definitely hard and stressful but the teachers were all so supportive and helpful and tried to make it fun. I enjoyed my time here very much and would happily recommend these courses to anyone I meet.

Justin—This is such an important review and reflection of your experience committing to and completing a coding bootcamp. We cannot thank you enough for sharing this and hope it inspires others to follow in your footsteps. There is indeed a lot that seems intimidating about these programs and many students feel overwhelmed, both in the first week and at various points during the bootcamp. There are so many things to learn and everyone learns differently. Yet with persistence and the support of our education staff—which you so kindly pointed out!—we find that students surprise themselves by what they are capable of achieving. We wish you all the best in the next steps of your coding journey and career goals and hope you'll stay in touch with us directly or on our social channels.
