Ironhack offers full-time and part-time bootcamps in Web Development, UX/UI design, Data Analytics and Cyber Security in Madrid and Barcelona (Spain), Paris (France) Mexico City (Mexico), Berlin (Germany), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Lisbon (Portugal) and remotely. If you're really thinking about making a pivot or even full on switch in careers I highly suggest Ironhack. My instructor Daveed and TA David were two of the greatest guys i've ever met and i'm sad it was just virtual. If you want to go to a bootcamp where you're going to have people care twice as much as you do about your success go to ironhack. You will be pushed but boy when you look back at the end the growth is truly remarkable. The course:
heavily focused on Python, we only had 1 week-worth of SQL from zero to advanced. Please be aware that SQL will be needed to get a job and the Python skill you learn is basically rushing through different functions day-by-day with little space to practice.
The homework (Labs) are confusing, we constantly had to ask the TAs to explain what the questions meant.
Sometimes it seems like someone translated text to English from another language with google translate without checking the outcome.
Overall:
Overpriced and not well structured. The curriculum needs to be re-designed and the (professional) quality of the teachers are rather low.
both the teachers and teacher assistants are very nice people, the vibes are good but this won't make up for your time and money spent.

Even during the pandemic I feel I got one of the best remote learning experiences possible. From the constant Teaching Assistant Support to the class times it was very well organized. I feel I definitely was able to strengthen my skills with JavaScript and HTML much more through this bootcamp than I could have in a year of trying to work independently. It was Lead Teachers and Teacher Assistants, who working after-hours for improving materials and attend students issues, that the course would deserve a fair pass.
I consider Job Assistance has been ineffective. As the couldn't organize a job fair, they promised us from 3 to 5 job interviews by September. It's November and hasn't got any interview referred by Ironhack Career's team. I understand the job market it's very inactive right now but I managed to get interviewed for 11 different data-related positions so... They're extending the period of time during which they will assist us, but hope they really manage te help soon.

The whole experience exceeded my expectations. I initially signed up to do an on-campus course, the pandemic hit and it wasn't possible and Ironhack went online. I had many hesitations of doing it online (the course nor the instructors were prepared for it, I wanted the in-person experience...etc.) however I didn't want to put my life on hold and decided to give it a go and I'm very glad I did.
Ironhack went above and beyond to make the experience as best as it could be for us. O...The whole experience exceeded my expectations. I initially signed up to do an on-campus course, the pandemic hit and it wasn't possible and Ironhack went online. I had many hesitations of doing it online (the course nor the instructors were prepared for it, I wanted the in-person experience...etc.) however I didn't want to put my life on hold and decided to give it a go and I'm very glad I did.
Ironhack went above and beyond to make the experience as best as it could be for us. Our teach, Nevan, and the teacher assistant, Helena, were patient (they also were thrown into a remote setting), optimistic and always there when we needed. Everyone in our cohort felt very supported.
Regarding the curriculum, it's (as you expect) intense and you learn a lot quickly, but that's what you bought into. The standard of work improved tremendously from Week 1 to Week 9 for all in our class and I felt really proud of everyone's progress.
In terms of job assistance - we had a really difficult situation as the job market was pretty much frozen, due to the pandemic, when we finished so opportunities were few and very far between. And, I have to say, this is the only thing that Ironhack did badly: the career stuff. We had a career week at the end which was badly structured and badly communicated. I had 100% attendance throughout the course and I only came to one and a half days in the career week as it was so chaotic - wasn't worth it. The support after finishing was there but slow. After 2 and a half months I started hearing something from them with recommendations etc., but it was after a lot of communication on my side asking for it.
Having said that with the career element of Ironhack being a let down, I have since found a really nice UX job (not found through the career services) which was only possible due to the learning from Ironhack.
All in all, the teaching of the course content was the best it could have been, the support during the course was brilliant, the career services need some work. Would I recommend? Absolutely! When I discovered the UX field I knew that I would be a perfect fit, however, I also knew I needed proper guidance when making the career change. Ironhack provided me with more than enough guidance and resources to accomplish my goal of landing a job and making a complete career change.

This program is called a 'bootcamp' for a reason. It is tough and intense. You are learning A LOT each day through lectures and (mostly) project work. However, the instructors are there for you at all times to answer any questions and offer you the proper guidance. The instructors I had were VERY knowledgable about the UX process and best practices, and they were always so patient with those who needed extra time to fully understand the concepts. I never felt intimidated or scared to approach them with any questions or concerns that I had. They created a very inspiring and encouraging classroom environment. Following the examples of our instructors, all of my fellow classmates were always willing to help each other out and pick each other up. By the end of the bootcamp, we had all gotten pretty close and it was honestly hard to say goodbye.
Another part of the program I really benefitted from was their Career Services. Brito (the Ironhack Outcomes Manager) is an absolute job and networking guru! Something I really liked about this part was their honesty. They made it clear that if you want to land a job out of this program, then you need to be the one doing the networking and applying. So many bootcamps out there promise that they will hand you a job right out of the program, which is total BS. But Ironhack's approach is to teach you the best methods of networking, applying, interviewing, and setting up your LinkedIn. Rather than catching a fish for you, they teach you how to fish.
I was able to land a really good Product Design job within a month of graduating. However, landing a job takes some people longer than others. I can honestly say that this program changed my life for the better. I was working in farms and restaurants prior to this, barely getting by on my hourly pay, and now I have landed a permanent role with a great salary and benefits. I am forever grateful for Ironhack and owe them so much.
Last but not least I do want to say: this program isn't a walk in the park. It is a lot of work and very stressful at times, but this just means that you will be learning a lot of information. Any program worth doing will challenge you to become better. A truly amazing experience, to be honest. I was part of the Part-Time UX Design course for 6 months, and I cannot really describe how much I enjoyed the process. For me, it was life-changing. I came into class with minimal background in design and walked out the door with a wide range of skillsets (from UX Research, Desing Thinking, UI Design software technical skills to even project management and communication, etc.). The Ironhack Miami classroom environment is beautiful, and its locat...A truly amazing experience, to be honest. I was part of the Part-Time UX Design course for 6 months, and I cannot really describe how much I enjoyed the process. For me, it was life-changing. I came into class with minimal background in design and walked out the door with a wide range of skillsets (from UX Research, Desing Thinking, UI Design software technical skills to even project management and communication, etc.). The Ironhack Miami classroom environment is beautiful, and its location is a jewel (in the heart of Brickell).
But the real value of Ironhack Miami resides in its people and staff. The social interactions, professional network, and friends that you are going to make there are gold. I cannot thank enough to my design instructors Snezana, Juno, and Jade. Big THANKS also to Brito, the Digital Talent & Business Development Manager, for his constant support and advice after graduation in the Job Hunt process.
All I can say is that a year ago, I was frustrated in a job with no growth, no passion, no recognition for my efforts, and today I am moving into a full-time UI Design role in a big company in the middle of a pandemic with a tough job market. Still cannot believe it, my life is about to change, and Ironhack was definitely the trigger.

Personal advises:
- If you can, create a little design foundation by learning before joining the course (Youtube, etc.). This will make you stand out
- PLEASE never stop learning, during, and even after the course. Be curious and try to learn as much as you can by yourself. Just the course is not going to make you land the job or a pro. You need to have the drive and passion for it (this is were most of the people fail after the course, in my opinion)

Best decision I ever made
I got into coding because I thought automating the boring stuff with Python would help my social media manager duties, which it sure did, but this wasn't the only thing that happened while learning the basics of code. I found there was a whole world a didn't know about, a world where you can build anything with unlimited materials. Right then and there, I knew programming was going to be huge for me, so I started looking for coding schools, and as soon as I found Ironhack it just clicked...I got into coding because I thought automating the boring stuff with Python would help my social media manager duties, which it sure did, but this wasn't the only thing that happened while learning the basics of code. I found there was a whole world a didn't know about, a world where you can build anything with unlimited materials. Right then and there, I knew programming was going to be huge for me, so I started looking for coding schools, and as soon as I found Ironhack it just clicked. In just 9 weeks, I would learn in-demand job skills and have a shot at becoming a software developer? To be honest, at first, it sounded a little too good to be true, but I'm here to tell you it very much is. Ironhack was the one thing that truly helped find my passion for coding through raw knowledge, teamwork, and camaraderie. If I had to do a million times over, I would do it without blinking. I did the bootcamp for Web Development on March/20. It was at the beginning at the corona crises, and the school had to prepare the whole program to be offered remotely, so mine was the first remote class. I was really impressed by the quality of it, since they had to put it together basically within one week, so it wouldn't affect the schedule. The staff was always great, I really loved the teacher, and the assistants were there for us even in late hours, which they didn't had to. I sta...I did the bootcamp for Web Development on March/20. I start programming nothing, and throughout the bootcamp, I build a game, a website, and an app in React. It was a really great experience and a big step changing careers for me. I also learned a lot throughout the career week. The only negative side, from my point of view, was the job fair. Since we couldn't do it in person, it was online, and I felt like the companies that were interviewing us didn't know our levels, or what the course was about. Some were asking for very skilled people, others for free lancers, and I understood that they would offer positions as Junior Developers, related to what we learned, and it wasn't the case. Other than that, our coach really showed prepared, and brought relevant knowledge when it comes to preparing ourselves for the interviews , and how to apply for jobs, how to make our CVS and Linkedin page interesting for recruiters, and so forth .
All in all, it was a great experience and I'm super happy I did it at Ironhack. I'm really satisfied and I will definitely recommend it to anyone that ask me how was it.
