Coding Temple

Coding Temple has been a life-changing experience. The program is challenging, but the support system is incredible. With Slack, email, Zoom, and Discord, there was always a way to get help. Screen sharing made it easy to solve complex problems in real-time.The instructors’ availability was truly unmatched. Mr. Peck's patience while teaching backend core concepts made an enormous difference in my learning. Similarly, Ms. Mehner’s dedication to staying after class to dive deeper into frontend concepts ensured I fully understood every detail.My main focus was backend development, and Mr. Katina was instrumental in that journey. His calm demeanor and encouragement replaced my initial anxiety with confidence. He consistently reminded me that I was progressing further than I realized—and he was absolutely right! His ability to break down complex ideas and create a comfortable learning environment was outstanding.The curriculum, hands-on projects, and tech residency simulated a real-world work environment, making the transition from student to professional seamless. Coding Temple not only equipped me with technical skills but also helped me grow personally and professionally.Thank you, Coding Temple, for the guidance, support, and encouragement that have set me up for success as a Software Engineer. I’m grateful for this life-changing experience!

I decided to change careers at the ripe age of 47. Attending Coding Temple was by far the best experience I’ve ever had compared to the other professional career schools I’ve attended. I didn't feel that this was a typical, cookie-cutter program. 

I made a ton of friends that I still talk to and collaborate with. The program was flexible with my schedule and I never had to figure things out alone. We all worked as a team, building really cool projects and by the time I graduated, I had a portfolio of cybersecurity projects to show to potential employers. 

At graduation, I felt job ready. I also earned my CompTIA Security+ Certification. I think this 'cert' made me stand out, along with the 9 other certificates I received because as soon as I posted it on my LinkedIn profile and started applying for jobs, I started getting interviews... which brings me to the next point and maybe the most important point. 

I graduated in one of the worst 'tech job applicant markets the world had ever seen' lol ... However, CT had reverse recruiters helping me with everything job related. As everyone else on LinkedIn was complaining that they were not getting noticed by employers, I was. I didn't say too much in public because I knew that a lot of folks were really struggling out there in the job market and tooting my own horn would have caused negative emotions. 

Then it came down to 3 employers that offered me a job. One of them was toxic. One paid $$$ but would have required much more time than I wanted to give... but the one I really wanted checked off 3 of the 4 boxes on my vision board and that's the one I chose. So not only did I get hired but I got to choose the company I wanted to work for and here's the kicker!... They initially reached out to me first! I shit you not!

The total time from day 1 of the starting the program and not even knowing what an IP address was until I was hired was exactly 7 months. I didn't start paying for the program until I was hired. 

Long story short, this was a wonderful and fun experience, and I recommend that anyone who wants to change their life, go for it! I don't want to leave a review without also leaving the full story. They were expensive and I didn't have the money at the time. I looked at all of the other programs and saw that a few of them were cheaper. Then I started digging  and found out why. My dad gave me a lot of advice in life and one of them is, "In life, you get what you pay for." 

When I first began researching coding bootcamps, I was a little unsure about which one to choose as there are so many of them out there. I ultimately chose Coding Temple because of positive student reviews, career services, and the tech residency program. It was a rigorous, but incredibly rewarding course that has brought me so far ahead from when I first started learning about coding. The classes are well taught, and the instructors truly go out of their way to help the students both by meeting 1 on 1 as well as hosting workshops to teach interview practice tips. Many of the instructors have made a positive impact on me including, but not limited to, Travis, Sarah, Grayson, Daniel, and Yessica. The tech residency program, while intense, it was an incredible experience that taught me about how to build an app with a team and meet deadlines. What I learned during the tech residency could not have been learned without participating in the program. Enrolling in the software engineering bootcamp at Coding Temple was one of the best decisions I ever made! I would recommend them to anyone who is looking to enroll in a coding bootcamp. You will not regret it!

The first time I called them I thought they were a scam LOL but then they started to explain what they were all about and everything began to sink in. I hope everyone who reads this that are thinking about going this career route has an opportunity to talk to them and check out what an amazing school they are. They will help you throughout the whole program, is not a moment that are going to feel alone. This is a life-changing decision and they would make it fun and dynamic to learn it and be part of the experience. BTW I hate writing reviews but they deserve every word and this would change everyone's lives. 

I just graduated from a part-time software engineering class, Thieves 139, and it was one of the most enriching educational experiences I’ve had. The class, led by Dylan and Christian, was outstanding. Their teaching style was exceptional—clear, engaging, and particularly effective in making complex topics easily understandable. Dylan and Christian's approach was not only interactive but also incredibly supportive, encouraging continuous learning and fostering cohort unity. The class was both informative and fun, making it a standout experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their software engineering skills under the guidance of inspiring instructors.

I will wholeheartedly recommend this bootcamp to anyone reading this review. I had a hobbyist background in coding knowledge, and the amount I learned in 12 weeks was quite frankly astounding. My instructors Christian and Dylan were an integral part in making my experience so exceptional. They were both incredibly knowledgeable, excellent at communicating concepts and laying out the logic behind what we were doing, and didn't hesitate if you needed additional help grasping a concept or were stuck on a tricky issue. They're also just both friendly and personable people who made class enjoyable.

A word of advice if you do take this class. Take the amount of time you think you'll need to invest and double it. You get as much out of this program as you put into it, and the time investment required to do well in the class is substantial. The curriculum is fairly fast-paced, and if you don't fully grasp a concept you may find it difficult to understand future concepts. Thankfully, like I mentioned Christian and Dylan did a wonderful job of both explaining initially, and assisting if you don't understand something.

If you're like me and you've tried to do self-paced classes a few times and burned out, then this is the course for you. They will push you to further your knowledge, and I am very grateful I decided to take the plunge and take this bootcamp.

Taking this class was one of the best investments and career decisions I've ever made. I realize first hand that making such an investment can be a scary and nerve racking decision to make but trust me when I say that it will be well worth it in the end! Their curriculum is honestly designed to give you a deep understanding of all the technologies and languages that you'll be using for your career going forward. I am also beyond thankful to have had Ryan Rhoades and Alex Swiggum as my instructors. Their patience, knowledge, dedication, and overall desire to want to see you learn and succeed can not be overstated. Alex and Ryan's teaching style made some of the most challenging and difficult concepts really fun and exciting to learn! The time I got to spend learning with them and my fellow classmates is an experience that I will never forget. I know that much of the future success that I will have as a software engineer will be attributed to the time and work that they put into me to make sure that I have a solid understanding of all the material being taught. Alex and Ryan's mentorship and guidance along with Coding Temple's program overall has provided me with an unforgettable start to my software engineering journey and has also truly increased my love for coding! I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to become a Software Engineer!!!
