Flatiron School offers immersive on-campus and online programs in software engineering, data science, cybersecurity, and product design (UX/UI design). Flatiron School’s immersive courses aim to launch students into fulfilling careers by providing a robust career services framework and dedicated one-on-one coaching post graduation that is included as an added value with the tuition.

The application process asks prospective students to share a bit about themselves and what is driving them to start a career. The process includes speaking with an Admissions representative in a non-technical interview to allow for the opportunity to get to know each other better in a friendly conversation. Applicants will also need to complete a 15-minute critical thinking and problem-solving assessment afterwards. Applicants will receive an acceptance decision from Admissions within 4 business days of completing the assessment.

Flatiron School’s Career Services team provides weekly 1:1 career coaching sessions, mock interviews, and access to an extensive employer network to help students launch fulfilling careers in tech after graduation.

Flatiron School powers the Access Scholarship which invested $1.5 million into the futures of more than 500 students across all of Flatiron School’s campuses and online courses in 2020. The Access Scholarship opens doors for aspiring innovators who may have experienced barriers to education. To build a more diverse and inclusive tech community, Flatiron School has awarded over $10 million in scholarships for women, minorities, veterans, and other underrepresented groups in tech.

Flatiron School was one of the first bootcamps in the industry and a pioneer in providing 3rd party examined job placement reports. Read their full independently-examined jobs reports at: https://flatironschool.com/jobs-reports/

    What I liked:

    • Great community, and great support from the fellow students
    • Frequent study groups, help sessions, gripe sessions.
    • The material, for the most part, was very well taught. The material was difficult, but overall they did a very good job

    Great Bootcamp prep course!

I've looked at a few different coding bootcamps & tried out their introductory learning material, but I definitely wish I had started with Flatiron's. Their bootcamp prep course is an amazing place to start & really lays everything out in an easy to approach way. I would recommend it to anyone looking to get started in coding.

    Solid foundational bootcamp prep

I found Flatiron school's prep work to be a comprehensive, easy to digest and streamlined experience. Even coming from a background of intermediate web development experience, the labs re-solidified many concepts and I even learned some fundamentals I had missed through my self-teaching efforts in the past! There's an integrated IDE so you're actually working in one of the most popular text editors and a very responsive community of other students/staff to help each other out if you get st...

    Bootcamp and Bootcamp Prep

Having never coded before starting my application process to Flatiron I was incredibly nervous to start and worried that I wouldn’t even get in.

I worked on the Free Online Bootcamp Prep Course from April-May 2017. I found it to be incredibly accessible and expertly written for someone like myself with little to no knowledge or experience.

I applied in early May and was amazingly accepted to the in-person immersive program in NYC from June-October 2017. Having recently ...

    A fantastic bootcamp

An excellent, constructive environment in which beginners can learn to code with the guidance they need, while developing the skills to continue their education on their own after the bootcamp is over. I haven't started looking for a job yet as I am taking some time to study independently before searching, but I am not worried the slightest. Flatiron prepared me well.

Bootcamp prep - a great intro to coding

Flatiron's online bootcamp prep course is a great way to get your feet wet with coding and see if it's for you. It also gives you a good idea of Flatiron's pedagogy and culture. The lessons are very well paced and engaging. Flatiron keeps it interesting with fresh challenges and a reassuring dose of humor throughout. I liked how the bootcamp prep course made use of the concept of "test-driven development", which provides instant feedback on your code and gives you a massive sense of accom...

    Great learning environment!

I just started in the Online Web Developer Program a couple weeks ago, and my expirience has been fantastic. They give you all the tools you need to be succesful in the labs. The lectures are full of great examples based on pop culture (which is amazing!) and the tutors are available all the time and they are always eager to help. If you are stuck in something or you just want someone to take a look of your code you can always ask for a screenshare, which is very helpful. The majority of t...

    Future Student

Having tried out a few online prep courses to see which was the best fit for me, I can say Flatiron School's stood out, so much so that I'm now enrolled in their online Web Development program (starting in November). The instruction and help I received was quick and clear, the labs they've created engaging, and the coursework kept learning interesting. I'm excited to be a full time student in the coming months.

    Comprehensive Bootcamp Prep

I tried multiple tools before stumbling upon Flatiron School's Bootcamp Prep course. Finally, I had found not only great a beginner curriculum but one that utitilized a community to help students and a program that used an IDE which submitted my work to Github.

Not only did the Bootcamp Prep help me feel more comfortable with the fundamentals but it provided features such as "Ask A Question" where you can work with other (frequently more advanced) students to solve problems you ...
