I've had an interest in Data Science and AI-related topics for a while, but was never quite sure how I would go about preparing myself for the field. I had taken some smaller individual courses, which helped, but I felt I need more.
Springboard emerged as the best all-around solution for me. Their bootcamp is compact and dense (suggested 6-7 months), but trainees have the option to proceed at their own pace. The flexibility is invaluable, especially for folks who are working full-time and have other obligations. The curriculum was awesome and one of the strongest reasons for me in choosing this program. It covered so much - Data Science Method, Python programming, Data Visualization, Statistics, Machine Learning and AI, Big Data, etc. It also provided a ton of hands-on experience which really helped to build confidence in the material. All along the way, I was helped by the Springboard staff who were simply amazing! From my first call (an assessment of my suitability for the program) to my invaluable weekly mentor calls, career coaching calls, to my course completion emails and discussion, they have always been knowledgeable, super positive and done all they can to support my progress. I have nothing against reminders, but sometimes it’s just too much. I was choosing between five different schools, all of which had pretty strong curricula. But I settled on WBS Coding School and their Data Analytics bootcamp, and then expanded my studies to Data Science - and that was the best decision. The program is very structured, intensive, and dynamic, with daily theory sessions on a specially designed platform that includes plenty of links to additional resources (LMS), the opportunity to complete training and get certified on LinkedIn, meetings with instructors for code-alongs (hands-on practice), and independent exercises reviewed by instructors, plus a retrospective at the end of each project or module. I’d especially like to thank our incredibly wonderful, responsive, supportive, and professional instructors, especially Marcus, Semira, and Mersha. I would recommend this to those who already have at least a basic technical foundation or are willing to work hard, as there is a lot of material to cover on your own, and it requires discipline and diligent work. But what I was most looking for was hands-on practice and real-world projects. Here, I created my portfolio on GitHub, and now I have something to show a potential employer. The skills I gained during the course are more than enough to get started in the profession. I highly recommend this school. You'll like it.

I found TTS through a local networking event where a regional representative told me about the bootcamps offered, and I decided to enroll in the Full Stack Web Development course. I had the absolute best time in this course! I learned so much about front-end and back-end development including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as well as specialized frameworks to create beautiful web pages and interactive applications. The back-end education and concepts we went over during our object-oriented programming in Java section were also incredibly valuable to me since I do not have a computer science degree. Overall, I would definitely recommend TTS to others who want to change careers or supplement their knowledge because the comprehensive nature of the bootcamp really allowed me to feel confident saying that I am now a full stack developer. Last November I subbed for a guy at a theater who was leaving to take a coding bootcamp. I was like, wait, a what camp? You mean I can learn how to do this coding thing for real?
Last week I launched my app, built from the ground up in Java and Spring, with the things I learned from Coding Nomads. Feels great!
Coding Nomads has been great. I liked it so much that I started their Javascript course recently. Here's what the founder said about my capstone project: "Your capstone is among the best we've ever seen here at CodingNomads and we've worked with hundreds of students. So, job well done!"
My intention is not to leave pro audio, but I do see software development as my next career act. Ideally, I'd like to keep building Tracebook and SubAligner, while doing freelance development work for manufacturers, AV companies, and the live event industry.
