Springboard is an online learning platform that prepares students for the tech industry’s most in-demand careers with comprehensive, mentor-led online programs in software engineering, data science, UI/UX design, cybersecurity, tech sales, and more. All Springboard courses are 100% online, remote, and self-paced throughout an average of 6-9 months. Springboard acts as a support system, coach, and cheerleader for working professionals who are ready to level-up or make a major career shift. Students have access to a unique community of industry mentors, thought leaders, and alumni, who are on hand to offer insights, networking opportunities, and support throughout the program and well past graduation. Every Springboard student is matched with a personal student advisor and industry mentor who guides them throughout the program through regular video calls.

To apply, applicants fill out an online form, take an aptitude test, then talk with a school representative about their background and motivations. For the data science career track a background in statistics and/or programming is required. For the UX career track, students should have academic or professional background in user design or development-oriented fields.

Before graduation, Springboard’s career services team supports students in their job search, helping prepare them for interviews and networking, and facilitates their transition into the tech industry. Springboard's programs are backed with a job guarantee.

Springboard’s support does not end when students graduate. All graduates benefit from an extensive support network encompassing career services, 1:1 career coaching, networking tips, resume assistance, interview prep, and salary negotiation. Since Springboard was founded in 2013, 94% of eligible graduates secured a job within one year, earning an average salary increase of $26,000.

    Springboard’s Data Analytic Career track

I recently completed the Springboard Data Analytic program and I am a happy student. The program and curriculum are wonderful. In the beginning, you’re learning new terminology and concepts thus will feel overwhelmed but once you get adjusted to the business and technology lingo with the support that is provided by the mentors weekly study sessions, other students, and the curriculum, it makes the material understandable. From thinking with a business mindset, to Excel, Economics, Power ...

    Effective UX/UI Bootcamp Experience

I finished the UX/UI bootcamp last year, and had a really positive experience throughout. My mentor and other staff connections were very helpful and informative. The content was easily digestible and I saw them continuously improving upon the program experience throughout the duration of my course. Springboard does a good job bringing the educational  foundation to students and provides an opportunity to use that education in a real world setting (namely though the IDP). I had an abunda...

    Expertly designed curriculum

The focus on self-paced projects not only leaves you with a strong portfolio but helped me learn in an integrated manner so that I feel I truly understand core concepts in the field of data science. Some frustrating glitches with curriculum access along the way, but these were always resolved through a super strong support community.

Great experience but a bit challenging

I had a great experience with Springboard. I was stuck between Springboard Vs. Design lab when I was choosing which bootcamp to work with and decided on Springboard because they offered weekly mentorship, real life experience (industry project) you work with for 4 weeks, and excellent communication with the career help/advising. For anyone who is switching careers or looking to find a good program I would definitely recommend Springboard. I enjoyed the mentorship.  The challenging part w...

    5 stars

Overall, my experience with Springboard was excellent. The student advisors, support team, and mentors were incredibly helpful and responded promptly, which was crucial for the completion of my projects. The entire team was very accommodating and designed the program to fit the needs of full-time working professionals like myself. I truly appreciate the level of support and guidance provided throughout the program, which allowed me to achieve my goals and gain valuable skills in my field...

    Software Engineering Career Track

Springboard was a win for me. It’s a great price point, allows you to go at your own pace, and the layout of the curriculum forges a good path. The challenge is assignments are way difficult for executing a task you just learned. The career services feel watered down in comparison the the level of the coding but it’s still very helpful.

    Great experience

I just finished the UI/UX Design Career Track at Springboard and I was able to get the job guarantee status. During the course, it was a great experience. I had all material and support needed. The opportunity of having a mentor was also one of the best things as you have someone to actually look at your job and give you a precise feedback. The opportunity of creating projects and also a professional one for a real company made my experience even better. Also, the career strategy is grea...

    Structured Curriculum With Great Mentorship

The UI/UX Design Track was a great experience. I would recommend it to everyone. The course is divided into sections that consist of reading material and projects. All those projects are steps to creating a mobile or web app. The reading material is very good and you can find a lot of interesting additional links that can help you in your designs. The best thing about the course is mentoring. You get 30 mins of weekly mentoring and if your mentor is as good as mine, it will be a big bonu...

    A pretty awesome program

This program was truly amazing! From start to end it was a great process. The weekly mentorship with an industry expert was invaluable. Along the way, I was able to reach out to my student advisor via email. Everyone was responsive and very quick to assist. The materials learned were also such great resources. I still have a lot to learn, but feel prepared to begin my career!

    Software Engineering Review

I've had a great experience at Springboard. From the start you are assigned a mentor who is with you along the journey and is there for any form of help you may need. The curriculum is quite heavy but the way it is planned out makes it easier to digest. With all the help you have by your side, with your mentor, on-demand mentors, coaches and even their support team, it is like a big family trying to help you succeed. I would definitely recommend Springboard for people that would like to ...

    Terrible Experience

I signed up for this bootcamp back in 2020 and there was virtually no help just a 30 min mentor call each week and the tutors are no help because when you ask them too many questions or need a Zoom call so they can go over or demonstrate something that's not something they offer. I need hand holding for the first Month or two so I can get comfortable and understand the concepts and be able to code on my own but instead I was left by myself and was unable to finish the projects and work w...

    Springboard Advising Team

    Feb 28, 2023

    Hi Loulou,
Thank you for taking the time to share about your experience, we are sorry to hear that the program did not meet your expectations. We set a high standard at Springboard to support students to a positive and successful learning experience, and we are truly sorry if that standard was not met while you were in the program.
It sounds like you would have benefited from more live practice opportunities with industry professionals. In addition to weekly 30-minute calls with their assigned mentor, we also offer supplemental mentor calls that students can book on top of their regular weekly calls, live office hours twice per week hosted by one of our mentors, as well as virtual access to the TA's through live chat and Slack where students can seek professional feedback and support. If you were not aware of any of these resources, that's a miss on our part, and we sincerely apologize.
With regards to whether students need prior coding experience to succeed in the program, we do have everyone take a Technical Skills Survey (TSS) at the time of their enrollment. The TSS is an assessment of each student's abilities in the different fundamentals of software engineering. For those who do not pass the TSS, we offer a Software Engineering Prep option that begins at square 1, covering foundational topics such as CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. Students are able to begin with the Prep material prior to advancing into the Core program through our 'Software Engineering Foundations to Core' track.
Lastly, with regards to finding a job, we do offer extensive career search support to all of our students that includes, but is not limited to, networking strategies. Our extensive career curriculum helps students develop all the skills they need to land a job in the field, centered around 1:1 meetings with career coaches throughout the course, and especially after completion during the job search phase, where students work on updating their resumes and LinkedIn, writing cover letters, crafting elevator pitches, networking events and strategies, mock interview practice, and salary negotiation, among others. We aim to make our Career Services readily available to students whenever they need them, as we recognize this is one of the biggest factors that contributes to students landing jobs.
Once again, we appreciate you sharing this feedback with us, Loulou, and we sincerely apologize if the high standards we set for supporting students were not met for you. If you are open to sharing more about how we could have done better, please feel free to contact advising@springboard.com and schedule a call with us.

    Sincerely,
    Dave Austin
