I came into the course knowing absolutely 0 about coding less than 6 months later I can make complete websites in several different languages. As long as you are willing to put your mind to it and really grind for it you will enjoy every second and leave with the greatest feeling of accomplishment being able to recognize you went from knowing 0 to knowing how to make entire websites from a complete blank page.

Alarm bells going off
Huge alarm bells went off for me with this company and I am glad that they did because as I tried to cancel they got even more shady. I tried to enroll with Coding Dojo and was all set to pay. Huge alarm bells went off for me with this company and I am glad that they did because as I tried to cancel they got even more shady. I tried to enroll with Coding Dojo and was all set to pay. My wife wanted me to use a particular card to get extra miles, but it only had 12k available on it, and the course was starting soon so I needed to pay right away and didn't have time to pay down the card first. I looked on their website, but there was no way to split up a payment without jumping onto a payment plan. This is a bit odd since I can't have been the first person ever to want to split up a payment of over 13,000 dollars. I called and asked if this could be done. They said sure and they would look into making it work. They sent me back an agreement that had me on the payment plan spending 16k instead, and assured me it would be fixed afterwards behind the scenes... But the agreement that I would sign says that the contract I signed IS the full agreement and anything else that we talked about didn't happen.
They then went back to send me a new contract and update it. When they said it was fixed I went in to pay, but their website had me locked into the other payment portion. It was after their phone hours so I clicked to report a problem, and was greeted with an error message that it didn't work and I couldn't report an error. HUGE RED FLAG!
How does a company which purports to train people specifically on web development NOT have a website that works properly, and even their error reporting button is broken?!?! WHAT?!?!? I have pictures and documented all of this.
I was told afterwards to just click through this portion and then I could see the next screen and they would change it behind the scenes again. But the part they wanted me to click through would be agreeing to pay them, which at this point I have decided to go with a different coding bootcamp. I declined and told them I lost confidence in their company's ability to train me if they can't even fix their own site.
I then received 7 phone calls from their company using their auto-dialer. They had done this a few times before when they called and it would answer then click through to a person, but this time it was just dead air, all 7 times.
I then received an email from them stating that I needed to sign a withdrawal form for the class that I never actually signed up for. Hidden in the blue link that says "I acknowledge the Coding Dojo Withdrawal, Cancellation, or Drop Form." is actually another contract stating that my net tuition was $13,745, they haven't billed me, but some funny wording which makes it unclear on if I were to apply in the future if they would try to collect that part in addition to other tuition... not that I would apply to them in the future.
Keep in mind that I NEVER signed any contract with them. They basically just had a series of errors on their system's part and then asked me to sign an actual contract. No, nope, no way.
To make things better I now get non stop emails, calls, and youtube marketing. I have requested that they cease, we will see if they actually do. But a word to the community, choose someone more reputable than this. If a company is shady and has issues TAKING YOUR MONEY, the time when they are the MOST motivated, then what on earth makes anyone think that this company would stand behind their commitment to educate and assist with your job search, the part that COSTS THEM MONEY?
Hi Matt, we're very sorry to hear about your negative experience. Please be advised that we have fully processed your cancellation request, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or confusion during the enrollment process. We will have our dev team look into the reported errors you encountered. We understand your concerns, so we’ll also pass this along to our enrollment and admissions team to streamline any future enrollment experiences.

Coding Dojo Review
So I did the Coding Dojo Part time BootCamp. It started with 6 weeks of frontend then moved on to 8 weeks of backend work with either Python, Java, or MERN as your tech stack. I would have to say that they did a very mediocre job. They teach you HTML well by making you do a few assignment of building things out. CSS was also sort of the same deal with the caveat that you were not allowed to use the flex property, which later came back to bite me in the butt since employers expect you to ...
CSS was also sort of the same deal with the caveat that you were not allowed to use the flex property, which later came back to bite me in the butt since employers expect you to know it. For JavaScript they did a terrible job on teaching it to us. They taught us how to solve very light algorithm problems with it by teaching us the basic syntax, but they did not: 1. Teach us ES6 which is standard in the industry today, AND we didn't get to build anything for our assignments to help us learn how to manipulate the dom and make a website interactive. However, they did teach Jquery for a bit so that was a plus. When your frontend portion of the BootCamp is done you get to chose your stack. If you look on any job listing websites for frontend/backend/fullstack you will see that 80% of the jobs want you to know JavaScript for both the frontend and the backend. But when you have to chose which stack to do, all the teachers pressure you into taking the python route. Don't get me wrong, python is an awesome language, but it's the easiest language to learn on your own. If you're spending thousands of dollars on a BootCamp, its better to get your money's worth and be taught the more in demand and harder stack being MERN (Javascript). THE BIGGEST AND MOST TERRIBLE FLAW THAT THEY HAVE IS THAT THEY ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PREPARE YOU FOR CODING INTERVIEWS. They teach you DS and Algos for two weeks aka 4 classes for 1 hr each, in the last two weeks. So when I finished the BootCamp and went to my first coding interview, I thought I was going to do great, it turned out that I could not even pass the online assessment. They have absolutely no idea on how to teach coding interview prep. They get you from the ground to the door for software engineering jobs, but they don't give you the key for that door aka learning how to do coding interviews.
Hi Moosa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us, and we are sorry to hear about your negative experience. Our core programs are designed to introduce students to a wide range of web development and software engineering technologies and tools. We are also very proud of our instructional team and curriculum, which are constantly designed to reflect the rise and fall of a given technology's demand. In addition, our curriculum serves as a foundation for developing self-sufficiency and learning new technologies as one's career progresses. From the start, we offer our students' Career Services, interview preparation resources, technical interviewing workshops, Microsoft Azure certification workshops, and much more after you graduate. Best of all, these services are offered for life with no expiration date. You are also welcome to join the Coding Dojo Alumni Community Group on LinkedIn, where we post resources and other materials that may be of assistance to you, as well as where we provide ongoing support to our graduates. Please message us at csm@codingdojo.com and we will be happy to get you into the alumni networks or help in any other way we can.We understand your concerns, so we’ll pass this along to our team. We'd be eager to help you, as student and alumni satisfaction is one of our utmost priorities. Please contact support@codingdojo.com so that we can assist you to the best of our abilities.

Pleasant Surprise
While making my career change, I needed to find a bootcamp that had a solid PT program but also had support and a good curriculum. I didn't think it was possible til I found Coding Dojo's Accelerated PT bootcamp. Great curriculum, great guidance and support. I knew some html and css before the program but I can confidently say I'm a software dev at this point.

Great experience
Absolutely love it! I believe that Coding Dojo is a great boot camp, with great instructors and TAs. As well, great support from CSMs and advices. Instructors create very pleasant atmosphere during lectures and motivate students. There is a lot of assignments and homework to do, but it is rewarding in knowledge you get. Would recommend it 100%.

I really enjoyed the courses and I feel like they were able to help me understand the foundation of the programming languages I signed up for. I also have some portfolio projects thanks to Project Week. It was great to see people with different backgrounds come together and learn from the very beginning. It was a little too fast paced though. Because you move on from a language right away and start a new one, it's not surprising that you can forget what you've learned previously. There were also some things in the curriculum I wish they would've taught (and not optional) such as deployment. All in all, I definitely enjoyed my time at Coding Dojo. Is it worth the money? I'm not sure, but the possibilities you have after completing the program are endless.
Just completed two stacks with Coding Dojo! Their Par time Accelerated online software development program has the flexibility of other part-time options but lets you go through the curriculum faster. Instructors are super supportive and TA's are there to help when you get stuck. About to find out how helpful the career services are but they guarantee lifetime support so I am hoping things work out!
Overall I really enjoyed my experience with Coding Dojo.

Could be good, but executed terribly.
Where to start... The course overall isn't terrible, but the implementation and teachers are. The TAs barely know enough to teach (one couldn't unzip an exam and failed it, another couldn't explain why port 80 is HTTP).
The coursework is severely lacking. They consistently tell students they aren't providing all the information they need to succeed, and that students should find info themselves. Which would be ok if it weren't literally every single class / assignment. You end up ...

The coursework is severely lacking. They consistently tell students they aren't providing all the information they need to succeed, and that students should find info themselves. Which would be ok if it weren't literally every single class / assignment. You end up wondering why you're paying them $14,000 to get told "use Google" every day. Although, in light of explanation skills of the teaching staff, Google *is* a better education, and you should wonder why you're paying $14,000.
They also teach old tech. Such as Python with Django instead of Flask. MEAN/MERN stacks that only work if you're deploying on 1 server, but not if you're using micro services or auto-scaling, etc.
Overall, I would say potential applicants are better off grabbing 4-5 courses from Udemy, and find a few projects on Google to complete. Which is somewhat sad because they *almost* hit the mark at Coding Dojo, but missed it just enough to miss it completely.

Overall, it is a great program to help you go from knowing nothing about coding to building a fully functional website/app from database to backend to frontend and deploying it on the web. It is very draining and hard but if you are serious about learning computer programming then the difficulty and pace should not be an issue.
Be prepared to drop a lot of responsibilities in your life for 14 weeks as you will be coding for at least 8 hours a day if not more. Class is from 9am-5pm and I typically coded for 9-11 hours. I was still able to relax, socialize, and do some chores but for the most part I would have to drop those things to get a little more studying in or to finish the harder or more complex assignments. But it was so satisfying to debug and figure out a challenging problem and completing a functioning website! If you know you wouldn't like being stuck on a problem or
There are holes in the program such as wanting practice problems/material for algos and the instructional material needing more videos/clearer descriptions of code/examples/solutions but it gets the job done and they seem like they are always trying to add/improve to the material as things become more relevant. My least favorite part was morning algorithms that were done in group settings. The lack of lecture beforehand frustrated me (I didn't even know where to start some mornings) and most people don't want to cooperate with each other. Probably because they don't know what to do either.
The Student Support/Career Services are also great in my opinion. I have heard/read that others do not like it but I think it is justified. They won't hand you a job and won't do the work for you. It is up to you to set up your portfolio and resume. And after to send your apps. But you have a counselor that helps with workshops, tips, and edits for each of these! They do mock interviews as well.
I tried to give as much information as I could! Overall I am very happy to have chosen Coding Dojo and feel that I have the tools to progress to a proficient coder!
Pros: -Instructors (and some TAs) are fantastic. This may vary but I only disliked one who did not treat a personal situation of mine correctly. -Curriculum gives you the tools and skills you need. But you do have to do additional work on top of it to master. -Pacing if fast but if you put the time in it's not too bad! Just try to keep on pace or within an assignment behind. I recommend being a day to half day ahead -Career services will help if you use them!
Cons: -Tuition is expensive -Algos in the morning are awful unless the instructor does a mini lecture and/or your group is good and talks! -If you don't have a group you may struggle. -No practice problems. Just assignments that build off each other and get more complex. -Material on website -If you have a lot of outside responsibilities full-time may not be best option for you.
